Just dropped in to say well done to the lads.
Social media appeared to indicate a similar game to last season. I maintain most games resemble previous encounters with teams probing for weakness usually coming out on top. It's what I admire about this league - you can vertually telegraph the opposition and their style but have to maintain an optimal level of guile, tactical nouse and effort. Clean sheets help.
Two distinctly awkward tests lie ahead. I was impressed with East Thurock last season. I thought the lad Lewis Smith played a blinder and unlike a lot of teams they could finish.
Looking forward to Saturday, (albiet not the journey which is grotesque), unlike the barmaid last season over the road in The Bull pub.
Seriously guy's she was like an Essex equivilent of Greta Garbo.

What a difference a week makes. Defensively solid apart from a few hairy moments at corners, more crosses coming from the wings, and what a difference Aaron Morgan made, I thought he was absolutely superb, and we should be utilising him up front a lot more often rather than wide left or ridiculously at left back. Kezie fought well with the big gorilla that was sent off after moving forward late on, he threw elbows constantly the whole game, so it was good to see the referee do something about it in the end. Great finish from Casey from a Braithwaite flick on, the only concern is the fourth missed penalty in a row. Practice required in training and a new established penalty taker to be decided I would suggest!

Aaron was my pick of the forwards pre-season. His strike-rate has not been great. I've always thought the lad has a tendancy to try and do too much. I think he has potential. I thought the gaffer my use him in an Anthony Thomas role - but I agree with you - up-front, in his own right adds another string to the bow. His all-round game has room for improvement - and that benefits everybody. Competition for places. Nice to hear the lads done well.

I think Aaron is now showing more of the form we saw during 2010-11, his first season with us when he scored 11 goals in 52 games. He was the spearhead for most of the season, initially with Belal, then on his own when Belal was injured, though Jamie Busby and Lubo helped him with the goalscoring.

A badly broken leg early the following season meant a long recovery and a spell away from the club at a lower level, where he showed that he had not lost the knack of scoring (remember the Middlesex Senior match at North Greenford in December 2012, Aaron scoring twice for them in a 3-2 defeat for us?). He looked good in 2013 preseason, only to fail to show the same form competitively, though he scored goals later in the season for North Greenford.

He certainly offers an alternative as a main striker to Leon and Kezie, but he also can perform well as a winger. I would agree with Paul that Aaron is not a full-back or a wing-back, but occasionally circumstances during a match could force the need for him to adopt such a role.

My guess is that his confidence in his ability to play well at our level disappeared following his broken leg, and has only returned fully this preseason.

Agreed that Aaron is now back to the form that we all remembered. A great FA Cup strike at Whitehawk sticks in the memory.

Pleasingly, the defence is sounder at the start of this season, than for several years, which is so important in league matches in my opinion. I am sure that attacking flair, so vital in FA Cup matches, will quickly develop as the season progresses.

The Bognor win was well deserved. I cannot believe that Bognor will be near the foot of the table for long. Early season matches are a lottery in terms of opposition, and a few early defeats certainly don't help confidence.
