Though AFC R&D are lower down the pyramid than Bedford, I had really hoped Bedford were going to win last night, a really dangerous banana skin tie IMO.

The FA Trophy replay pasting at Claremont Road by a sophomore Rushden & Diamonds team was on September 20th 1994.

Edit: Just looked up the FA Trophy for that season.
It wasn't as bad a result as first appeared, even though R&D were a division lower.
R&D cut a swathe past:
Wembley
Crawley
Sudbury Town (as was)
Farnborough (as was)
Halesowen
and
Enfield (as was)
They then beat eventual winners Woking 1-0 in the semi-final 1st Leg before losing the 2nd leg 2-0.

Their stand is named after snooker player Peter Ebdon - You'll be humming that tune all day!
Eddie flagged this one up after the draw was made - gates of 500 plus - they look physically way above their station. I'm thankful it's not on a Sunday. Quite possibly the most difficult game at home to date. Certainly no Biggleswade. As for the clinical finishing up front - the goals will come - I would be far more concerned if we weren't creating chances in the first place.
