Borough 0 - 1 Hayes & Yeading

We certainly didn't deserve to lose last night.
Dug in from the start with the intention of nullifying Hayes which worked until they scored from a long throw which was allowed to drop in the 6 yard box - similar to Truro's 2nd (and only non referee assisted) goal on Saturday which was hooked in from a few yards out.

Squad depth probably cost us in the end when Ezra limped off 10 minutes from the end we had no defensive replacement and I'm pretty sure he would have put his head on the long throw that the goal game from.

Shaun was named on the bench despite not having kit on and obviously injured / not available.
Surely that's an opportunity to promote a player from our U23's?
Even if they don't get on the experience of being around the 1st team gives them a boost to keep performing?

Neither team created much and were not helped by another sub standard refereeing performance from the man in the middle who constantly blew up for non free kicks but let more serious challenges go.
Great crowd for a Tuesday night - Let's hope the Hayes players and supporters had enough fuel in their cars for the long journey back home...

Three games in eight days against very good opposition & we have matched the visitors in all three.

Three excellent games to watch too.

We were really unlucky not to get something out of the game. I thought our defence was terrific & a real shame we lost Ezra.
It has to be acknowledged that the Hayes defence was first class too. Not impressed with their forward play as it seemed to only involved winning free kicks & set plays.

Each to their own i guess, but I would rather watch our team, than Hayes. Even if that's what it takes to win the league.
