Lack of firepower

Yet another game where we boast of keeping a clean sheet, great I suppose but what is not mentioned is the hard work that the team puts in to create good goal scoring chances that are not taken. We desperately need a striker. Last night was a game we should have won but could not convert the chances created so for goes down as two points lost.

I totally agree. It would be hard to choose a man of the match last night. If I had to, I would give it to Sally and the refreshment staff! Always on top form. Playing with one up front ( Adrian Clifton) or maybe False Nine - no recognised striker - just doesn't give enough goals. I would say defensively we are sound, so I would ask why we had three central defenders on the bench last night. Last season Pat Cox promised, and delivered, goals. This season we have more points than last, but the progress is minimal. It may be time to give some of the younger players more match time. We have three ( Joe Aribo, Deshane Dalling, and terrence van Couten) out on professional contracts without getting the benefits of sustained first team runs. The youth team is successful, but do we ever see the benefits coming in to the first team?

Can't complain about yesterday's firepower. Although, overall, I think a 4-1 victory flattered us; Wadah's equaliser was very special; two perfect crosses for goals two and three; and a fourth that I just couldn't believe from the player I would have subbed at half time. Looking forward to Saturday

Of all the games I had to miss it had to be this one. I know I've complained of lack of firepower but we win with 4 different players scoring, great. It just shows a dedicated number 9 is not always the case. lets hope they can keep it up and this Saturday and I can enjoy it.
