Most people would have preferred us to stay in the Bostik League , but i,for one,am looking forward to competing in a new league.
Ok , the distances to away games will increase by approx 20 mile round trip , bur we get to go to some new places :-
Banbury Utd , Frome Town , Kings Langley , Merthyr Town , Swindon Supermarine , Tiverton Town are 6 grounds i personally have never been to.
Add to that Hartley Whitney and Taunton Town which i don't think that we have ever played competitively.
A new manager/ a largely new team/a new league.
Could be an interesting season!!!!

Yes interesting indeed, make a statement about joining the football league, then disband a team that was only 4 players short of promotion and had the best goal scorer in the league plus most of the back room staff and then try and start from scratch, and have they considered that Wheatsheaf lane holds 3000, so if we are promoted to football league status they will require a ground capacity of 4000 plus scope for an additional 500, so where are we going to play as there is no room to expand our ground. Yes this could be a very interesting season.

Maybe the new owners are looking to buy the horse field from whoever owns it and build a Woking type stand at that end.
Also the back room staff came with Drax so it is not surprising that they leave with Drax.
Maybe the new manager(announced today) or the new owners will try and retain a lot of the players from last season , but as defence was our problem , that is an area that needs strengtening

Interesting appointment for our new manager, he’s an unknown who has previously managed at Biggleswade United in the South Midlands league 2 levels below Staines. The new owners must know something we don’t to make such a bold move. He can’t be bringing any players in from his old club as they will surely not be up to standard but he and his management team are qualified A grade UEFA coaches. Could he be the next big up and coming manager? We will have to wait and see. As for the football league dream In 10 years time, I can safely say they badly need that land behind the goal or it will all just become another pipe dream...

Not sure of all the departures, but I see Buchanan has signed for Kingstonian whilst Worsfold is returning to his roots at Maidenhead.

I think that all STFC supporters would agree that Max is good enough to play at a higher level.
A strong winger who provided a phenomenal amount of assists , and a good number of goals
He will be missed by many and i,for one, wish him all the best at Maidenhead- a move that will give him the opportunity to test himself at Conference National level.

As for Eliott , another player who is good enough to play at a higher level.
For a player who has played at Conference level , i was surprised to see him sign for Kingstonian.
I can only think that Kingstonian must have substantially increased their budget to afford both him and Louie T.
