Staines Town Football Club are delighted to announce Cristian Colás has been appointed as the club's new manager.

The Spanish coach has signed a deal to take the helm at the Swans and will be presented at a press conference at Wheatsheaf Park in the coming weeks. Stuart Bimson and Albert Martinez, who worked with Colás previously, are joining his backroom staff.

Colás is a UEFA pro licensed coach and comes with a glowing reputation having been a coach at senior professional level in Spain, Finland and in England with Biggleswade United.

UEFA A licensed coach Bimson joins Colás as his assistant having played and coached in the football league. Albert Martinez who is a UEFA B licensed coach will be in charge of the performance and rehabilitation side of operations.

Colás says ‘I am delighted to become a Swan. There is lots of hard work ahead of us and we will work both on and off the pitch to ensure that we give the maximum to our fans, I can assure them of our commitment to this from the very first day.

My message to them is that we will need their support so we can enjoy together this exciting journey for the football club’.

Hi Cristian and good luck during your tenure at STFC .
If you don't already know its tough at the level we are at -we have seen in the last few years managers who think talented youngsters can hold there own at this level but quickly discovered that it was boys against men and the men won resulting in relegation.

We also saw that without good contacts with local senior clubs finding loanees was very difficult.

We have also seen that with more and more overseas players moving into the top divisions of football many talented young players who are nurtured through the academy system are being released at a young age and are looking ,supported by agents, for contracts with clubs at our level but at a price .

Goal scores and providers at our level are like gold dust and are quickly snapped up by clubs who are in the money.

What you can rely on is the loyalty of supporters at STFC-we can help in many and varied ways -we just need to be asked and be included in the process .We all wish to be part of Staines Town Football and contribute in the growth and progress of the club

Best wishes to you and your staff .

Norm

Great post Norman.

One way of helping the club is joining the 12th man scheme - details of which can be found on the website.

A second way is joining the supporters club - £20 for adults / £10 for juniors and senior citizens - details of how to join can be found on the website.
All money raised by the Supporters Club is ploughed back into STFC on worthwhile projects to benefit the supporters first and foremost. Our last major purchase was last autumn when the Supporters Club paid for the safety rails in the main stand.
