Whenever we bring back a former player there are generally two camps, those who are seemingly affronted that we can't move on and those who have the rose tinted specs on. Personally I think we should take each incident such as this on its individual merits. If the player (or member of staff) coming back improves the club then I'm all for it.

Byrom is a good technical player. He is more experienced than when he left but not over the hill at 31 years of age I'd hope. What he brings off the pitch is experience, a knowledge of the club, manager and what the manager wants to build. He will hopefully help to instil these values in his younger team mates as well.

I'm personally happy to see him back at the club. He adds depth to the squad in the centre of the park. Ball, McKee, Timlin and now Byrom is a good mix of youth and experience, something that Dino seems to be implementing throughout the playing staff.

Oh, and he was involved in plenty of scenes during his first spell here. So let's hope that he can be involved in some more this time around! Welcome back Joel.
