I'd play 5 in midfield with Revell up front on his own, holding the ball (to feet) up and bringing others into play. Four in midfield isn't working - even though Timlin and Byrom are very good (in my opinion) they have nobody to support them thus allowing them to get forward. They also seem to be overrun when the opposition is in possession as the two wide players don't support them in a defensive context. Putting Ball behind them would allow greater support and give them the ability to go forward with gay abandon. I'd sacrifice Guthrie to make this happen. Literally. Also, for a team that was playing two wingers and two (supposedly) overlapping full backs, we weren't getting anywhere near enough crosses into the box and when we did (as Wasp points out) they weren't very good crosses.

So, it comes down to the system. The traditional 4-4-2 ain't working, in the same way that the early season experiment with 4-3-3 didn't work, so let's give it the old 4-5-1 (4-1-4-1?).

There you go, I've fixed it again. Happy to take a job on the staff Dino.
