The key to this is still the Premier League. If they end up relegating three clubs, then we will end up in the National League (barring Macclesfieldgate).
But will the PL really be able to finish the season? Without only using neutral grounds? And if they can't, will they relegate anyone?
The EFL has to make the stand its making for now, otherwise the PL will simply point out that the EFL scrapped relegation first.
And if we are looking for moral high ground here, surely the National League has already ruled out relegation to the feeder leagues below.
