Agree to an extent but 'gimmicky' social media activity can change behaviours (positively and negatively).

Well worded endorsements of a position, like the statements from Rashford for example on child poverty, are like adverts, pushing for a change.

And businesses wouldn't advertise if it didn't work in terms of changing our behaviour (in their case usually spending behaviour and choices)

Businesses (and governments) do change their behaviour in response to media, social media and protest.

Doesn't mean I'm not a hypocrite who buys trainers made by 10 year old on a dollar a day, but at least I now feel a slither of guilt which may eventually change my behaviour.
