Apologies to the sensitive but the following is a link to the sun who are reporting £1.5m

And who can argue with their integrity and truth.

Won't show that in the accounts filed unfortunately, ordinarily. Might be able to see an increase in turnover which I think is where transfer fees are recognised in the accounts. But depends if they abridge the p&l or the balance sheet.

Long time since I did company accounts and all the rules and standards had major changes recently.

Sounds like the club got £1m for him (also reported by the Independent). Hopefuly with some sort of sell on clause too.

EDIT: The final fee is linked to appearances, development etc - https://www.stevenagefc.com/news/2018/may/ben-wilmot-signs-watford-record-fee-premier-league-defender-stevenage/

I've heard it was at least a million*, which this article corroborates.

Which is excellent news. And all the best to Ben. We invested our time and resources in him and he has more than paid us back.

Although undisclosed I think the rumours at the time were that the Bostwick sale to Peterborough and Lawrie Wilson to Charlton brought in a combined figure of around £750k and so it was assumed one of those was our record fee at the time. But I've no evidence of that, just hearsay.

According to transfermarkt the previous record fee received was £567,000 for Lawrie Wilson. Bostwick was £450,000.

They also give Wilmot's fee as £1.53m

I found this from when they signed Bozzie:

Posh chairman Darragh MacAnthony described Bostwick's capture as a 'big piece of the jigsaw' on Twitter. "The gaffer's number one target for the summer has been landed," he tweeted. "That's over £1.5m in transfer fees for six summer recruits thus far to enhance and strengthen our squad. Excited!"

So if we can find out the cost of the other 5 players we will be able to work it out :)
