Love Daisy. Definitely the best keeper we've had in my 29 full years watching regularly

But at 43 it's probably right that the manager decides now may be the best time to get a younger number 2 (as the article suggests).

i would guess he either wasn't prepared to take a substantial pay cut or he still thinks he can play.

Either way, sad news. A legend.

The way it's come like a bolt out of the blue makes me wonder... Surely Dino would have had a frank conversation with Chris early on?

Absolutely gutted. He will be sorely missed both on and off the pitch.

Thank you Daisy (always England’s No.1).

I hope this doesn’t sour him getting a well deserved testimonial.

The greatest of all time (for Boro obviosuly).

Words don't do his contribution to this club and its fans justice.

Legend is a word over used these days but he is certainly deserving of it.

I hope he is added to our wall of fame, although a statue would be more fitting.

He and Robbo were stand outs in an era full of stand outs....the rocks on which a phenomenal run was built.
The journey from half way up the Conference to the League One play-offs was the most fun I've had in half a century of watching football.
CD was a fantastic goalkeeper and team man. Suspect there is more to this than meets the eye.

Devastating news. Genuinely.

Absolute legend and could have offered so much still.

If you fuckers had got on board with my campaign a few years back he would have had a Player of the Season cleansweep too instead of whichever fuckwit he shared them with :(.

Shocked by this. Seems to me something else has happened because this is the first we’ve heard of that Daisy would be leaving and in his interviews on signing, Farman was asked how he felt about having Daisy in the squad with him too.

Certainly good enough to be our number two, deserves a testimonial and should be nailed on as GK coach too for as long as he wants the job when he finally does retire.

All the best to Daisy. Hope we haven’t seen the last of him at the club in some capacity and thanks for all the memories! Undoubtedly a Stevenage FC legend.

Won't take it personally! Bit of a tough one - can see why they wouldn't want to take from the playing budget if he wasn't going to be second choice keeper, but how much would that have really been considering he'd stay as a GK coach anyway? There's something about the tone or wording in that statement that doesn't sound quite right either considering who it is they're talking about. Can't really put my finger on it...

So, it seems he did want to play after all when certain posts on here previously have suggested the opposite. He should have been kept as combined No.2/coach, an ideal role. Who’s going to be keeping his eye on Farman now?! CD was perfect - knows the club, players, what’s expected... sickening.
