For what it’s worth his track record so far is mirroring his time in charge at Southport and Nuneaton - good start, things look like they are improving but then stagnation and decline. I’m not sure he’s cut out to improve a club in the long term but who knows. He deserves the chance for sure

I think the fixtures somewhat dictated when we did well. We started with easier fixtures and have just had a run of very hard fixtures.

This is why I think you should usually give a manager at the very least a season. (Exception being if you look like you might get relegated).

Unless you're lucky or the best manager in the world then it's going to take more than one season for a manager to build a team that can do what they want it to do. Or unless you inherit the best side or have the biggest budget.

No one is seriously questioning the managers position. It's not even worth talking about. It's just someone trying to be funny.

Disagree that this is someone trying to be funny. I think this post is genuine.

I'll have a bite.

Mid-table ? Yep probably, maybe 2-3 places above that. Which is marginally better than our budget.

Tactically inept? Nah. Gets it right as often as he gets it wrong. Improvements are as much about some of the players as about the shape.

Needs a more stable back 4. Just ask Cuthbert who he wants alongside him and do that.

Needs to stop picking Revell just because he runs a lot. Needs to get more out of Guthrie somehow.

Needs to get a decent winger. JCR and Sonupé aren't the answer. Ship both out in Jan if we can.

Needs competition to gee Byrom up.

Like others, I think Dino got his tactics/formation yesterday

If you are going to play a back 3 with wing backs you need them to be centre halves. Game was calling out for Wilko, mainly as he is the best partner for Cuthbert.

Also we were lacking experience in the middle of the park, The game was bypassing Ionotton and Ball seemed to be struggling against their main two midfielders, Bishop and Mellis who were controlling the midfield

A very strange decision at half time to take Ball off and bring on Revell, with him out wide it left Kennedy as the midfielder to keep their midfield in check, which never happened and from then on there midfield controlled the game

I agree with Dino we need a bit of experience to be added to an inexperienced squad this next transfer window
mainly due to:-

Dino signings not performed :- Nugent, Ball , Reid, Guthrie, Snoupe, Campbell-Ryce, Makoma, Revell
Players not given a chance:- Georgio, Mc Kee, Wilkinson, Van Cooten

Revell was a Sarl signing bit agree on others not worked out.

I'm disappointed that Reid and Ball haven't performed as liked the look of them pre season.

Reid hasn't been given a real chance yet.

Ball was doing well then dropped for 2 months and now struggling to find any sort of form with his cameo appearances.

Whatever. Dino is GW without the iron will. Nobody is as arrogant as GW. Dino is another long ball 4th div manager. He might get us to the p.offs but I doubt it. He can make them bionic but it’s no substitute for branes. This is no reason to sack him btw

I thought yesterday was quite unlucky. Lucky to go in ahead but I feel we were better until their second.
The game swung on that excellent corner routine that we hit the bar from. Score that and I suspect we see it out.
Massively lacking some good wide players, I guess 5 3 2 is Dino trying to find something that works without the wingers.
Not to downhearted with that one personally.

The question that could be asked too is,are the assistant managers not good enough,so therefore Dino needs somone helping him who has more of an idea about tactics and has experience.

Everyone will have their own opinions about Dino’s tactics but one thing you can’t say about him is not being a nice guy or friendly. Quite the opposite.

Harry Kewell...... you’re a shite fisherman.

Christmas last year we were 15th, played 23, GD -2 and 30 pts... this Christmas we are 12th, GD -2 and 32 pts...
Not a massive difference... but Dino is still the right man to take us forward IMO.

We need a bit more strength in depth but the core of our team is very good this season. It showed on Saturday when Timlin was injured, we had to play young Arthur.

For me we're missing some younger legs up top, perhaps a natural finisher like Matty Godden and a bit more cover in midfield. Apart from that as long as we keep our whole squad fit we'll make the play-offs.

I must admit, I was a bit surprised that we loaned out both ferry and Makoma when Timlin is injured, but I guess that means that we will be getting in another midfielder and Irontton is covering for now.

We have no chance of keeping the whole squad fit. Players will get injured (and suspended, and fallout of favour). Suggesting if we keep the whole squad fit we'll make the playoffs is as stupid as me saying, as long as I can grow gills I'll break the underwater swimming record.

I thought at the start of the season that scraping into the playoffs was optimistic but maybe just achievable.

I now think we'll finish roughly where we are, maybe 2-3 places above middle if we can keep most of our best 11 fit, can get a quality winger and midfielder in and keep Seddon. If we make the playoffs I will be very, very surprised, and of course very happy.

I'm holding out hope that Dino will finish the season strong like GW used to.

After Colchester we've got a run of easier games. It would be good to pick up some decent points there, but it'll be February and March where it's won or lost.
