Danny Newton

He's probably still sprinting around the place now. The man at times is unreal and didn't give the Newport defence a moment's rest, it was relentless.

Under the circumstances a 1-0 win is a great result. The whole team dug deep when they had to, the back four were solid throughout and the midfield played their part too. A special mention for Arthur Ionnton who, for a youngster, put himself about so well and didn't look out of place.

Get in there!

A lot of us in the West stand spent half the game asking where the midfield was, as it seemed frequently to go AWOL.

Thought Iontton was good.

That's what Newton gives you. Not great at passing but he gives tenacity up top and forces errors and makes things happen. Revel does that to an extent too.

Better balance to the side and looked better than against Crewe. Hardly noticed we had ten men which shows how well they all played.

Edit: although still lacking width and creativity. Not many chances again. Not many options when people are on the ball and look up.

If I were Wilko I'd be extremely pissed off at the lack of opportunity and only being on the bench as a reserve GK.

Wouldn't surprise me to see a transfer request, or it being granted. We've got Ronnie and TVC as back up to Scott and Ben, who Dino clearly favours. I'd prefer to keep him but I'm not sure Dino will.

On a similar note I'd expect to see Ball leaving, seeing Dino throw Ronnie into CM ahead of him says a lot.

And Sonupé, if we get any offers or a loan to cover wages, hasn't had many chances and has squandered what he's had.

Professionals know they won't be playing every week (unless you're Scott Cuthbert who is just unreal). They have to make a big impression on the training ground. It's up to Wilko to show he's better than Big Ben. I assume Dino is a fan of Luke as he gave him a new deal at the start of the season.

As for Ball and Sonupe, it's their first season in professional football. Give them a chance!

Your probably right Foxy. Young lads and relocating. They need to be in good digs, enjoy getting out of bed and performing. If one thing isn't right it can hinder a lad

Considering his family situation I would suspect Wilko may want to remain as local and settled as possible rather than relocating to another club.

She'll be out soon, but in any case whilst that's a valid reason for him wanting to stay, it's not necessarily a good reason to keep him, I'd imagine he's in the top quartile of earners.

Did you see his 30 yard strike in to the top corner during the warm-up. He should be reserve keeper defender and striker.
