Borochat POTS

I thought given the decline in people who use borochat these days, this year maybe I do the initial vote on here then use the borochat Twitter account to put the top 3 to a Twitter vote. I think this would reach a wider audience of voters, although possible subject to manipulation.

The winner of that vote then gets the award.

Thoughts?

Sounds like a decent plan.

Or you could just give it to Cuthbert.

With the sad Kennedy affair and him not further evolving at the club (always thought he’d leave sooner rather than later anyway - but imagined it would be due to a big cash boosting transfer away)...

With Newton being afflicted with injury a little too often and with no outright goal scoring machine like a Hayles, Gooden or Gittings...

...it’s taken someone like Chair to come in and make a positive injection of flair (like Kennedy was against the grain of Dino’s style), belief, consistency and those threatening moments of attack that we lacked prior. I think it’s improved confidence and certainly has given Guthrie a second wind.

Farman has been very decent lately and Cuthbert is the mainstay. But I have to go with Chair for what he has done for the club in a very short time.

The thing about Chair is his attitude is great for someone who has tremendous ability and has been farmed out to parks football. There are plenty of young players available for loan with mad skills, but I doubt we'd get that level of performance from many.

Chair has turned what would have been a “decent enough” season with luke warm levels of attacking flair into a much more classy “decent enough” season (finishing above mid-mid table is good for a club our size imo - even if the equally dispersed mixed results for rivals have meant we were kind of lucky to stay there or thereabouts for most of the season despite our own bad results and runs at times).

He’s not “our player” and he won’t remain at the club - but for me he has injected a new excitement into the team and hopefully will inspire more signings or loan signings of his creativity. We need it!!!

Cuthbert is a sound and vital player like meat and potatoes to our healthy diet. But Chair is shot of cocaine to our future.

Cuthbert. Yesterday, once again fucking immense. Wouldn't have known Tom Pope was playing if it wasn't for his antics with the press!

If Port Vale play a premier league team next season in one of the cup competitions imagine what he would have to moan about.

Players going down after being breathed on holding their face rolling over 20 times and letting out an almighty yell as if they've received a 2 leg breaking tackle.

Miserable arsehole.

Pope comes from the British tradition of strikers whose entire game is based around being allowed to foul defenders. Remember Crouch struggling for England because in the rest of the world you can't just wrap both arms around the defender and climb over him?

Naturally, in the tradition of our manager, we only use skilful goalscorers like Kurtis who don't run around needlessly fouling.

3 bookings and no sendings off in 42 appearances - and a goal every other match. Not a bad record for anyone!

I should've said "In the 2006 World Cup" to rule out the times he lit up Andorra and Macedonia etc.

That's why I was going to put it in Twitter. You'll get more people voting for Guthrie or TVC for example if I do. Make it more of a contest.
