Rather pathetic excuse for a professional. If this was the case why didn't he get the lawn mower himself and cut the grass to his standards?? one of the worse excuses I've heard in some time I must say.

Doesn't really need an excuse, not like we lost and played terribly. Sounds like a comment rather than an excuse. When you analyse everything to look at how you can gain an advantage these little things enter ones thoughts.

I agree. I walked down to give Drackers my pre-match hug and my immediate thought was, 'that grass looks long'

Rather baffled me as I'm.sure it has all of us as to why he came out with such a bizarre comment. Aren't you baffled by this Sev? if their were football awards for managers most bizarre comment/excuses then this one would defo be in the hat.

Not really. If he'd commented how the car park was maybe, but the pitch is a pretty big part of football.

In hindsight he's simply saying hed have had the grass shorter.

The kind of thing I wouldn't even register but often find myself defending managers over because everyone else makes a big deal out of it then it looks like I'm the one making a deal out of it.

Well Dino should of said to the ref, excuse me Ref can we delay kick off till 3 30 so I can get the groundsmen lawn mower to cut the grass to my standard?? Imagine that being announced on Gillette soccer by Jeff Stelling like you know how he starts his sentences quiet then starts raising his voice, and the GAMMEEE AT STEVENAGE HAS BEEN DELAYED BY HALF HOUR BECAUSE THE STEVENAGE MANAGER WAS NOT HAPPY WITH THE LENGHT OF THE GRASS SO HE GOT THE LAWN MOWER AND CUT THE GRASS HIMSELF TO HIS STANDARD.

the pitch was cut the same as the Carlisle united match no different, just another excuse before another poor home game. may be an idea if supporters asked how much our Ground-staff work for on a match-day.

He's does that too often for me. Worst player to give the ball when theres two people near him. He always tries to play his way out rather than just getting rid.

Few nervy performances out there today and a few not wanting the ball at times. Ended up just playing long balls because players were too scared to make mistakes, except ironically Timlin whose happy to fuck about with it in dangerous positions.

A draw was a fair result. Keeps us with a look in but realistically going to take a lot of luck to get in playoffs now.

Nice to have a little interest in the end of season games though. Been a good little run.
