Anyone going?

Anyone got anything in particular they want to hear?

I've never managed to get to one of these owing to my remote location. Plus it's the Manchester derby tonight.

I should imagine it'll be the same questions as last year, and the year before...

Oh no wait, that's meet the Chairman.

I'd like to know if we have made enquiries with QPR for another half season of Chair and what the response was.

I'd like to know why Dino keeps losing assistants, does he think he is he hard to work for...

I'd like to know where he sees his transfer budget being focused in terms of strengthening which playing positions.

And whether Daisy has been invited to play in Ronnie's testimonial.

It's been asked many times before and been answered many times before. People just need to get over it.

Some managers like to outnumber the opposition and defend the set piece then worry about the second phase. Some like to sacrifice a man to stand up top in case the ball gets cleared to them so it doesn't come straight back.

I don't think conceding from corners has been a particular problem for us has it?

You are right. We were in Shep. It was a baking hot office and he got his tactics board out.

People have to remember that this is league 2. Where do you leave the man? Centre spot? Left? Right? Anyway. Wherever. The ball will go the opposite way. And it'll still be a throw to them.

Edge of the center circle right in the middle, in our half so they can get to and compete for clearances where-ever they go. Slow/prevent the return of the ball into our box and buy their team-mates time to come out and if you're ever luckier spring counter attacks.

That's what I'd do anyway!

Answer As I say TOO MANY - Well Just look back at the replay of the goals we have conceded when everyone is back. We have been poor at second phase defending, always on the back foot.
Does having the likes of Chair Newton or Guthrie back in the box really help? Better one around the circle at the half way line (Newton) and another just outside the D of the box to pick up our defenders (often poor) clearances or a Farman punch out.
Also usually results in a few opposition players coming away from of our box and surrounding area. This should give Farman a better view of incoming shots often from outside our box, less chance of a deflection on the way in, and when he saves it a quick route out for a counter attack (anyone remember those?).
Also our players still in the area will need to take personal responsibility to defend for once, not leave it to someone else to deal with.
We concede far too many scrambled or deflected shots from the second phase of set pieces and corners.
Go on Dino give it a try in a few pre-season friendlies. You don't have to do everything GW did. Be your own man.

So your opinion then as I thought you had the facts of how many goals we've conceded.

What is too many, 5, 10, 15?

By the way I don't mind leaving one up top and Dino and GW are not the only managers to have everyone back at corners.

Dino stated one goal. Someone in audience said two.

2/54 in percentage terms isn't worth discussing.

As I said to the fella asking the question, we were having that conversation 15 years ago with another manager.

Not in the first phase.

If you look at the table, if we want to improve next season we need to score more and concede less. I suggest this is one change that would help both. For me, it's not the biggest problem with the team at the moment, but it is one of the most frustrating.

I guess it just at matter of opinion at the end of the day, some managers and teams prefer it, some don't. I guess it boils down to the type of football you enjoy watching.
