Hopefully not, he is 23 not 18 so I would hope he could the ground running, or at least behind Newts and Kurtis if they both stay!

Having followed the link onwards to the list of cities, I found it quite amusing to see that Peterborough has been designated a city waaaaaaaay longer than Cambridge.

Morning all,

As a Bromsgrove Sporting fan just thought I’d come on to share my thoughts on your news signing.

We’re obviously all delighted for JC. He’s a really good player and although the goal that was made famous a couple of weeks ago is his most famous in a Rouslers shirt, I think a goal he scored in the play off final last Monday probably demonstrated his class a little more when he nipped inside a centre half to bury the ball into the roof of the net. I think it’s plain for all to see here that it was only a matter of time before he got his big break.

Cowley is a nasty little bugger. Although fairly diminutive in terms of height he’s certainly not one to shy away from the physical game. I think his introduction to full time training will give him that extra additional edge for professional football. He’s quicker than anyone else we’ve had here and so full time training will improve on that too.

I hope you’ll see plenty of goals, but don’t be surprised if you see a red card!

Good luck and look after him.

Nasty little bugger you say? Just the sort of player to take Stevenage back to their core values then.

Remember when Dave Tarpey went on to score a lot of goals at Maidenhead then when he stepped into the football league with Barnet he wasn't the same player as he was. I remember when Anthony Thomas scored a lot of goals at Hemel Hempstead then when he came to Boro he struggled despite that being in our conference days. Well judgment shall be preserved for now so welcome to Stevenage Jason Cowley. Here's to what we hope is a successful season ahead.

I used to watch Maidenhead a bit when I lived in Reading and saw Tarpey play. To be fair to him, he broke his let just after joining Barnet, massive shame for him.

Ok so there are always people worth a punt on. It’s a cliche to say Jamie Vardy (non league signed to a Championship club). But there are many other examples. And just like signing someone from the Irish Leagues - you’re more likely to find a gem who may be humble enough to stay at our club for a little longer... Got to take a punt now and again!! Especially us.

Of course what you say is right I'm just saying let's not put all our eggs in one basket because of his goal scoring record in non league football as it doesn't always work out for them when they step up the league. I really do hope it does work out for him and he brings his scoring record to the club next season to the Boro and help us push for promotion. :)

Think Dave Tarpey not being the same player he was had a lot to do with him blowing his ACL 40 minutes into his Barnet debut more than anything.

I know it's super easy to be fooled by what you see on YouTube videos, but Jason Cowley certainly knows the way to the back of the net. Some of the goals on a montage I've just watched, were brilliant. Let's hope he can do the same for us he said frothing at the mouth.
