I think our fixtures are superb. Nice for a change to start away and what a game it'll be! Live on sky sports, good coverage for the club and give us fans a cracking day/weekend away.

I think it's quite clear that our first 5 are really tough games. Two promoted sides, one relegated from league one and the other being Mansfield who were in the play offs. But, to get those games out of the way early into the campaign is a big positive.

I like our Christmas fixtures, a nice boxing day home game, Plymouth away will be superb in the bitter Christmas cold near the coast and Northampton away on New Years day is a nice little trip.

Bradford away and Grimsby away on a Tuesday night in the wet and windy weather will be fun.

Carlisle away on the last day made me laugh. Couldn't believe it when I scrolled down to see we've hit that long trek on the last day of the season. But overall, a different fixture list and a season I am extremely excited to see the club involved in.

I still can't get over the fact we're playing the 23 other teams at home, AND that we're playing the 23 other teams away as well. All between August and April.

Superb.

Would it be an advantage to play all our away games first and then finish with 23 home games? Think of the brilliant run in we would have.

Think how tired our poor loves would be after 23 away games in a row. Would need a month off before starting the home games.

Start the season with 23 home games, beat all those tired away teams, would get us to 69 points and virtually guaranteed play offs. Then any away points in the 2nd half of the season would be a bonus

I'm not so sure, early into the season is a good time to play those teams. I'd rather play them at the start, then in October when they've had a good two months of games.

I dont like to get newly promoted sides first game. Think wr had Tranmere last year. They have momentum from their successful previous campaign and will be well up for it and a bit unknown.

After a couple of months they've then settled down and teams know what they're about a bit more.

But ultimately if they are good they will be good throughout so doesn't really make a big difference.

With it being on Sky and all the focus will be on Salford and looking for them to win, perhaps we can use that to our advantage (everything is against us mentality, so we'll show them)

Looking back there was that season in 2006/7 under Mark Stimson when we only one once in the first 9 games. And only 2 draws in that too! Grim.

Went onto finish 8th and win the Trophy at Wembley. So the start doesn’t always mean everything! Just takes a bit of luck like a decent run or a player coming good.

Still... would rather start as we mean to go on and hope we don’t play to the circus by losing to Salford as that game will get a similar amount of hype as a 3rd round FA cup match against a PL team, if not a Women’s International match....

I agree with Matt, the new teams often take a little while to adjust then get back into their stride. We struggled on promotion to the conference and start of our first season in the league for the first few months, then picked up around october/November. Same with Tranmere last season IIRC? they were well down the table early on.

Sky sports will have a thrill day putting all their focus on Salford City and of course the ex Man United player's who will have their arses licked from Sky sports pundits.

I sincerley hope we get the job done there and teach them a lesson because no doubt Salford player's will be such big headed and cocky.
