Byrom Staying

Not particularly surprised to see Joel resign. Does he deserve a spot in the starting XI next season? I personally think that with the way Dino seems to want to play, he doesn’t quite fit in the starting line up, provided we bring in a few new signings. Regardless - delighted to have him back

I think it's probably a good thing. He's certainly not the player be was the first time around, but us plebs can't see what he does on the training ground and dressing room.

I don't see why Joel is never revered as much as others from that era ?. Someone showed me some stats on his passing and assists and he was fantastic last season (I'll try and find it.)
He's a bit like Nugent in that people already have a pre conceived views, thought he had a great season too, got better and better.

Good. He ran through walls for us last season. Hopefully we have better strength in depth at that position this season so he isn't forced to play through niggling injuries so much and we'll see more of the best of his abilities.

When fit runs most midfields in this league. Absolute rolls Royce. Won us games like Mansfield Away

Obviously not supposed to play 40 games a season and he won’t have to this year.

Experience and dressing room character key too with Ronnie and Revs going

He’s on less money than before too.

Win win

I seem to recall that it was Ilias Chair that won us the game at Mansfield, although I also recall that it was a very strong team performance.

Having said that, I like Joel and am glad he’s signed a new contract.

I guess we must be getting a lot of players rejecting us :p

Somebody at the club is clearly giving information to somebody close to the club. But that somebody is unable to go public with it, but feels the need to spill the beans. So that somebody passes the information to Reece, in the full knowledge that Reece would plaster it all over social media, thus allowing the initial recipient of the information (as well as the originator of the information) to get the information out there. Which is precisely what the club wanted right from the start, unbeknown to anybody involved in this chain of information, including the originator. This is how the club is able to reassure supporters that Joel is on a worse contract than last year without the club releasing a statement to that effect, which may be insulting to Joel.

Simple really.

Which in itself is wrong IMO. If true, Info like that shouldn’t be put on social media unless it it is directly from the club officials.

I completely agree - delighted to see him back. But, I believe (and hope) Dino plans on bringing in at least 1 first team quality CM or CDM, and I have a suspicion Iontonn will play a LOT of games this seasons. So whether Joel starts the majority of games is yet to be seen.
