It did occur to me that it may be useful, as fans, to get a message over to Dino and the boys that the general idea is to put the white round thing they kick around into the back of the net. I think so much of pre-season was taken up by... (someone remind me what exactly we did in pre-season again) that they've forgotten what they go out on the pitch to do (apart from run round like headless chickens for 90 minutes). So, if fans are willing to chip in, I'll fly a small plane over Bragbury End this week trailing a banner saying 'try fucking scoring' or something

Hi Dino, Salford was shit wasnt it. Exeter was better but infuriating to keep losing late on. Not sure I agree with some of your selections but you're the manager with the qualifications and get to see the players every day, so I can't really say you're wrong with any convictions. Although I did have a good week on the fantasy football. Are you registered as a player? We need to score goals to win matches.

I find it absolutely bonkers that there a few select of people saying Dino out. We’ve played 2 matches in the League. Plymouth got promoted a couple of seasons back and in that season had an awful start to the League. We have a new team, with a big injury list, it’s unfortunate, but this team will take time. Along with Dino we have very experienced coaching staff and I fully believe they will get this team to turn the corner soon. Patience. If the team hasn’t improved by the middle of September, then let’s be concerned.

Dino has passion no doubt, he needs to sometimes take a step back, he's isolated Georgiou who hasn't helped his situation by not showing the manager 100% in training, Dino dosen't think he's a league 2 player work ethic wise, however could be a match winner played in the right formation, Reid has been cut adrift after an argument in the Hitchin game, so now will be loaned out, Nugent is a massive miss, players are now coming back to the squad from injury so lets get behind the team and Dino, he knows with the investment and more professional way the club is trying to go he needs a good next 4-5 games or Wallace will be recruiting.

We would have planned for a slow start and with Salford, Exeter, Leyton Orient, Bradford and Mansfield in the first 5 that's one of the most difficult sets of fixtures in the league, If we haven't got any points on the board after we've played Macclesfield i'd start to feel a bit more concerned then.

Phil Wallace isn't stupid he knows we have 5 of the most difficult games we could of had in August and there's always a chance we could lose the first couple of games but he also knows we need to gel and I don't believe him to be a rash chairman who will get rid of a manager after a couple of bad games and disappointing results.

Wallace isn't stupid but if we lose the first 6 Dino will be gone, especially when we already have a suitable replacement employed.

Fortunately I don't think we will lose 6 in a row so we can all carry on together achieving the results we want.

Your having a laugh surely? he's changed the entire squad from last season, 11 or 12 out and 14-15 in so obviously they are going to take time to gel, it's not going to happen over night, also the injuries we have aren't helping at the moment either, certainly an over reaction, give Dino time give the new lads time and give Oldfield and Sampson time and we will come good and be up there top half of the table at the end of the season like we were last season.

Possibly hence why I also believe that if we lose the first 5 or 6 Dino will still be here come the end of August in to September, Wallace brought him in for the longer term IMO although if things don't start to pick up of course he will be looking over his shoulder especially with Sampson ready to step in if he was to act although I don't believe that he would be so rash, Dino deserves the season IMO with backing in the transfer windows to get the best out of this squad that he's just built and to bring in any necessary reinforcements and then see from there where we are.

Exactly that, we need to remember we've changed most of our squad on the pitch and the impact of everything thats going on off the pitch too, hopefully the players start to pick up results soon, the stand gets finished the stadium becomes a fortress and we push on and get more wins at home than points dropped.

I actually believe we'll put on a performance Tuesday and get a result, Southend have had a poor start to the season losing both of their games in League 1 and I believe we will know we can get at them and we can beat them and if we do that will give us momentum going away to Leyton Orient on Saturday.

Nothing to do with Chair, the guy was too good for us and for this league but I do believe we aren't where Dino wants to be yet in terms of transfers and I fully believe there will be more done between now and September 2nd in terms of players in and players out on loan to gain experience.

Also you need to be realistic, Salford were always going to be up for it last week being their opening game in the football league, at home in front of their own fans and in front of the sky cameras with the day all about them, as for Exeter they are a good side who will be there or there about's come the end of the season pushing for the playoffs as I believe Salford will be as well.

How much time have we got to gel?

For all of this rebranding and new stand, even with the funding from the league and the bond holders, these things always cost more than budget.

We need to have the team firing on all cylinders in readiness for a decent FA cup run to make a bit of cash.

Without this windfall things could be tight and may force the Chairman’s hand.

Who in their right mind would dismiss someone after two games. Let’s see how things develop over the next 1/2 dozen games.

Let’s face it, we put up with some awful football last season pre Chair so let’s hope everyone still has some patience left to see this evolve a bit more.

Wow, two games in and people are already calling for his head. Nothing like an overreaction.

Today was shite, last week was even more shite, can't argue that.

But I thought we weren't part of the revolving door club.

We've got half a new team, give them a few weeks to find their feet and gel and then, if we don't start seeing improvement, bitch about it.

We have two very experienced coaches alongside the gaffer, I'm not sure we'd get anything better.

Patience.

Also worth mentioning the 4/5 first team players out injured which really doesnt help matters.

Poor game today - two teams seperated by decent finish for their goal. On another day their player sees red for what went on just beforehand - we went the entirety of last season without an opponent being sent off. No change this season it seems.

Certainly isn't when you see who the ref was and his track record against us, kind of expected him to make it all about him and it looks like he has done just done again. In terms of the injuries Denton, Digby, Nugent and possibly even Kennedy will definitely be in the squad and probably even starting more often that not.

Pre season is more about getting fit. You cant replicate competitive games playing against non league sides and higher teams reserves, whilst making 17 subs.

You then get chucked in at the deep end and see how good you are. At the moment we arent at the right level and that's what you learn game by game and see what needs changing. Sooner rather than later!

I don't recall saying it was a decent start. And in no way am I saying it is a decent start. It's been poor. All I'm saying is that I disagree with your apparent point of view that pre-season is the only time of the year that a team should be able to gel and know how to play their best football. Things take time. Trust the process.

Given his haphazard recruitment and the general lack of cohesion in pre season, losing at Maidenhead should surely have set alarm bells ringing, then our start, despite the optimism of some on here, isn’t exactly a surprise. People started jumping up and down at Parrett’s return as if he was the new messiah. In reality, he’s done bugger all for three years and, I’m guessing, no one else wanted him. Dino is not stupid and will be hurt by two defeats. I believe he is passionate about the club and is desperate to succeed. I’m not just sure he has the nous to do it. He got lucky with Chair last season. Without him the quality shortfall is huge

Low IQ

Makes it appear a bit of a waste all of the other great innovations going on at the club now in this new push and evolve era.

My only warm feeling for DM is that he might hang around if per chance he was successful as maybe he’s not a big enough name to attract offers. But he already did a PNE jump ship with his mentor GW anyway. So he’s not proven to be loyal generally and he’s not even GW.

I say hire someone new quickly to go with the new badge and the new stand and get the donkey out.

Last season was all about a freakish loan signing of Chair and his individual contribution and affect of many of the team players’ performances thereafter.

That’s gone now. And we are back to a Dino led team without a Messi / Maradona type catalyst. You will see quickly that it will be a team finishing low in the league. I promise you.

Low IQ? When you consider the journey Dino has made from a tent in the Sahara to an EFL manager, the coaching badges he's taken along the way and his ability to conduct a Press conference in English, this is an insult. He may not be as eloquent as some, but don't underestimate the man.

This is not a Disney story. Goat herder turned football manager. It’s not the Lion King. Come on.

It’s also not about the liberal BBC crap going on about African manager etc. He’s a human being. We all are and I don’t see it any other way.

He’s been in England as long as anywhere so let’s not patronise him or ourselves about language and the like. He is what he is. I’m not being racist about it. He’s just not very clever and has never proven himself to be a good manager at any level. And I doubt he will.

Sorry but that is my view and if I’m wrong then good luck to Dino. I don’t wish him bad. And I know he will always be good at a club for training and such like. So I’m not trying to destroy the guy!

I'm not accusing you of being racist, nor am I patronising anyone. Dino's story isn't Disney it is fact. It is such an easy journey that I'm sure scores of others have made a similar one...
Along the way he had success at Northwich (Conference manager of the year, as I recall) and Southport and modest improvement at Nuneaton.
That does make him Pep G, but it IS insulting for you to claim he has a low IQ simply, presumably, because he doesn't always express himself perfectly in his second language.
Obviously you are personally smart enough to make that judgement. I am sure you aren't brave enough to express it directly to Dino.

It is a bizarre statement to say someone has low IQ. On what basis and how can you possibly know.

Fair to say you don't agree with someone's decisions or you don't believe they're a good manager etc but where does an insight into someone's IQ come from, especially when you don't even know that person? It's just being unjustifiably insulting and feels more like a personal vendetta than a reasoned argument.

Just my opinion.

I say that keyboard warriors are more those that jump on anyone who shouts out an opinion.

If Dino was in my face now I would not be all gay with him and say oh my geeee you are like the best manager in the world. I would say that was shocking and what are you going to do about it?!

But hey ... this is a general standard low budget internet forum and not a “meet and greet with actual people”. Get over it.

The worry is this is exactly how we performed the first half of last season which pissed off the floating supporter and reduced our income for the season. By the time things changed most had made up their minds or at least the ones I keep trying to convince anyway. I too feel for those who have spent the summer improving the clubs infrastructure in line with fine tuning of the team but this again is where we fall down.
Just keep looking at shots on goal (let alone target) and the key one today was off the post in the first half, don't remember anything else of note.

Ilias Chair was the miracle of us not finishing in the bottom 3. Or certainly the bottom half deep. I doubt anyone could argue that sanely.

DM has poor tactics and poor general management skills. He’s a great secondary “on the training ground” coach. But he’s not a manager. He’s a donkey.

I gave Dino the benefit of the doubt last season as against all evidence of what I was watching we managed to put a play-off run together. However, today was abysmal - a very worrying performance. Where is the pattern of play? What are they trying to do? Why take off Newton and leave Sonupe off? Exeter were a very poor side and we didn’t test their keeper once. It was inept across the park. We didn’t seem to have any idea what to do in the final third. I am not a reactionary and acknowledge today was the first home game of the season but I am really questioning whether Dino is up to the job.

Sonic Exeter are an excellent side not a poor one

I actually thought we played well today and went toe to toe with one of the promotion favourites. The elbow incident was the small margin that changed the result in a tight contest. Stokes had to leave the pitch, the ref And lino didn't see it, although I did from 89 yards away. it broke the concentration at a crucial time. We just got unlucky with that today, otherwise we would have secured a hard fought point.

The only negative is we are not firing up front at the moment. But the balance of the side was so much better than last week's disaster. Taylor's movement will pay off eventually as we go.

Don't panic, play like that most weeks and the results will follow. I'm not sure Dino has the nouse at this level but lets give it a few months yet.

"I actually thought we played well today"

Wow. I thought we were tactically shit, indecisive, scared to get in the box, second to everything, lost the midfield and didn't scrape together a decent chance all game. And our set pieces were shocking.

We can't both be right.

I thought we were poor in the final third and good or rather as good or better than Exeter in all other areas.

At 0-0 I was fairly happy to get off the mark with improvement from last week and got a feel for what we were trying (albeit not necessarily agreeing with it!)

I certainly didn't think we were shit or second to everything. Thought if anyone was going to nick it late it would be us.

Set pieces have been shit for years and years and no sign of that changing.

At half time I said "on this showing these sides will be finishing 14th and 15th in the league this season" both sides were mediocre. Having managed to lose 1-0 to a mediocre team (or at least a team not playing that well) is a hallmark of a side that will struggle to get out of the bottom quarter of the division, but it's early days.

I didn't really hear you comment on much during the game other than us not creating anything which should be obvious to anyone.

I learnt nothing from the Salford game and worried its because I was behind the goal and can't see anything.

From the East yesterday I got a much greater insight. Hopefully the view from the north allows me to see what is going on.

Sensible post. I agree. Creating more is obviously what we need. But we do get in positions to fire in a cross for example, we just don't (instead turn back and pass it around the box again) so that can resolved.

We haven’t even played our strongest side yet and don’t think we will for a long time so they need to work on getting on without them

I see so many people want Dino out you are to harsh on him it’s been two games in plenty of time for improvement. Some people are to quick to judge him when we are losing.

But how many of fans travel round the country when Dino and the team are going well most fans don’t even go past the m25, only for big teams or when we live on sky sports

We all should stick together support the team not be negative not everyone knows what goes on behind the scenes
