Given a 3 game ban by the FA for his smack on Stokes on Saturday. The match officials didn't see it apparently (god knows what the lino on the West Stand side was looking at), but it was given following video evidence. Exeter aren't going to appeal it.

This makes my blood boil. I saw it. The lino MUST have seen it. If he didn't I informed him..... Look at the video, the ref is staring straight at it. Its a nonsense.

Stokes clearance would have been so much better if he wasn't running back onto the park. Wouldn't it?

All four of the jokers in charge should be banned for 3 matches too without any wages

Hear hear Deano. Such appalling lapses are unforgivable and in this case cost us at least a point. It looked to us to be a clear-cut red card and how ALL the officials missed it is beyond me. I'd thought all game that the ref was poor and fussy, then he misses the big one!

In that they probably wouldnt have scored in the immediate aftermath of getting a red card. Genuinely think that there is an unwritten rule that no Stevenage opponent should ever be sent off during a match. When was the last time it happened???

How can you say they probably wouldn't have scored? Absolutely no way of knowing that. Plenty of sides with ten men score, and the guy involved was not involved in the goal so no direct causal effect of him still being on and the goal going in.

You simply cannot categorically say the decision to not send him off cost us a point. Had he awarded them an incorrect penalty from which they scored, I could get on board with the accusation a bit more, but not here.

I didn't see it. Nor did Sev. Nor did Polio. We were all watching Loyal as he started to walk out towards the gates ready to stride off for his train 😍.

What actually happened?

Only because you said there goes loyal. I'd have been looking otherwise. I could understand the ref not seeing it, although sounds like he was looking in that direction so should have, but then you would expect the linesman that side to see it, or even the 4th official. What's the point in having assistants when everyone is shit.

Agreed, the officials must have bottled it. I can’t believe none of them saw it.

So what happens if the ref or Lino does see it, and it’s given as a foul, and the player gets a yellow/red? Is a free kick given and the corner then becomes null? Or does the corner continue as the ball idnt in play at the time? Or is it in play if the ref has blown to allow the corner to be taken? I don’t know the rules enough.

Would still remain their corner as the offence occurred whilst the ball was out of play.

And they technically wouldn't be giving a 'foul' as the ball has to be in play, they would just be sending off the player for a punishable offence.

If a yellow card given at least Stokes could have stayed in the pitch to defend the corner, if a corner still got taken.

Not necessarily, there are a few caveats.

Such as if a player is cautioned for the offence provided the treatment is quick (so in this case Stokes would still have had to go off even if a red was shown).

Or if a keeper and outfield player or two outfield players from the same team get injured together after a collision, both can stay on after treatment.

One stupid rule that does need changing is if a player other than the GK is fouled and receives treatment on pitch he has to go off. Yes I know you get a free kick but you re still down to 10.

I thought a player didn't have to leave the field for a head injury unless there was a suspicion of concussion. Whatever, the ref got it very wrong.

I thought it was any player other than GK who receives treatment on pitch for anything has to go off even it is a result of a foul . But I stand to be corrected.
