A good point, which you would take at any stage of the season away at Mansfield. And created a few more chances to score, as with the Bratfud match. So progress there.

But no goal in five games is atrocious, regardless of any injuries (mostly defensive anyway, our attacking options have about the number of injuries you would expect during a season). Been 31 years since we had a run this bad.

Our worst start to an FL season in most regards with the fewest wins (was one), most defeats (tied with three) fewest points (was four), fewest goals scored (was five), although defensively a good start as we have only conceded fewer goals once in ten years and tied our most clean sheets after five games with two.

I predicted before the season began that we would have two points after five games so we are going along on par there. Saturday will be a big game as despite their strong start it is the first one on the fixture list that fans will have looked at and would be expecting to win, and with three defeats from three home games this season, it is a game we really need to win to send the fans away content.

Edit: Another question. Are we too soft? Are we fighting enough in games? When you watch us you don't feel we really get stuck in and let the opposition know they are in a game, we don't crunch tackles. Only six bookings in six games too. Good from a suspension and fines point of view, but are we giving our opposition too easy of a ride in games?

Really entertaining. The Quest highlights said it well. We had the best chance in the first half and really should have gone one nil up.

Mansfield were largely restricted to easily saveable shots from outside the box. In terms of stats we ourselves could have similar shots but what's the point when the chance of scoring from them is very little.

Second half they came out strong. 4 corners almost immediately and we had to battle a bit more. Middle third of the second half fairly even, we still looked quite comfortable and getting in good areas.

Last 5 plus injury time again Mansfield had more pressure and a double save and clearance prevented them from scoring.

First half Taylor was getting loads of space and in the positions with the ball but again couldnt pass! Kennedy coming on was probably the right thing. He saw lots of the ball too second half.

Byrom ran the midfield first half. Tidying up and playing the ball around.

Husin was doing some lovely long passes, not sure why he went off maybe the yellow he was on.

Soares looked just like Cuthbert at CB. Impressed with him.

Wildin did well given the circumstances at RCB. They did focus their attack on our right side and 2nd half kept getting in behind with an inexperienced (in those positions) Wildin and Carter down that side. Going forward very good though. Carter did well.

Both Stokes and Carter were hugging the touchline giving us width and it worked well. Passing out to them and then down the channels to Taylor and Newton to run into and turn the defence.

It was a really good performance overall I felt.

The new chap Lakin didn't look out of place, playing between Byrom and the front line with Husin.

Farman was fantastic when called upon.

Funny I've just listened to Dino's short interview on Twitter and apart from the comments about injuries and Liverpool (that's just asking for fans who don't like him to call him a clown like they used to with Westley when he referenced Man Utd, England or Messi) he saw the same game I saw. Picking out the same players for praise, the same chance, the same balance of play (even the last 5 minutes).
