Loving all these storylines and sub-plots. Much better than the football nonsense, that's mostly shit.

Will Medal Winner come back for one last stint? Will there be new blood to take the throne? Will the Caretaker make an impression?

The football will be dire. Some of the players will be playing in the youth squad. If we finish near the bottom Westley will blame it on Dino/Samson's players and all of the Westley brigade will swallow it.

It is a crap choice and show's a severe lack of vision from our fanbase. If we were in the conference and want to get back up I can understand it. Personally I will be getting my football fix somewhere else. Even if we are successful with him.

Dino and Westley have the same mindset and set up their teams in similar ways. Why do we need more of the same? We might as well of kept Dino.

Would agree with Sarll. But as per my response to Chuds, you can’t define a manager on a spell. They’re judged on the period of time from joining to departing.

The records would suggest that from August-November Sarll was probably our best manager in history. Only God knows what happened after that.

I don’t actually care if he comes back or not as I won’t go to games.

But the football played under each of his tenures have been no less shit than what we’ve had since under others; barring maybe Stimson. For what it’s worth, in each spell in its own right, he’s achieved more success than any other manager at any other time since Fairclough.

Would I have Westley over:

Wayne Turner: Yes
Mark Stimson: Yes
Peter Taylor: Yes
Gary Smith: Yes
Darren Sarll: Yes
Dino Maamria: Yes
Mark Sampson: TBD

I would agree with you except the first season under Sarll when we played some of the best football I have seen since Westley Mk II. Both Home and Away consecutive win records in the league were done under him. He blew it eventually but it was a happy time for me on the terraces.

I would say that PW has alot of responsibility for this. It says more about the quality of the managers we have been appointing rather than GW. I have just had enough of GW football especially when we have had a load more of it under Dino.

And no other managers are available, obviously.

Our worst ever start to a FL season after ten games = GW.
Our worst ever run of winless games in the FL = GW.
Our only ever relegation in the FL = GW.

People only remember the second spell. We went back after that and all of the above happened. But yeah, he will make everything magical. Obviously. If he comes back I am done.

We had an amazing time under GW, no denying this but we also had the opposite.

If MS turns out to be our saviour then job done (I do like what I see so far).

If he just keeps Boro up but does not look able to take us any further then PW must carefully recruit the best manager he can. That doesn't mean GW though, far from it.

There is a wealth of management talent out there, PW just needs to be thorough and set the seed for anonymous research and recruitment now...just in case.

To do this will cost the fees of a headhunter but he must take independent professional advice to get his man.

You can narrow down to spells in each tenure and paint a picture that he was only successful as GW MKII.

But history dictates that as:

GW MKI - Playoff Finalist.
GW MKII - FA Trophy Winner, Runner-Up, Conference Champions and League 2 Playoff Winners.
GW MKIII - Playoff Semi Finalist.

I get it. He isn’t a progressive move for the club and it’s a questionable move if he were to come back. It shouldn’t be a measure of his success, but he’s hands down the only manager that’s delivered under Wallace’s reign.

The club would benefit from a manager who plays progressive attacking football and gets us mid table or above instead of a fucking ideologue glued to a fitness app. Get a football person in with a brain. The problem is when Wallace realises he is a dreadful judge, he gets a bellend like Big Bad Bazza to hire his fucking fishing buddy. We may aswell let Wallace do it and hope to god he gets good advice for once.

MKIII is more accurately denoted as relegated us than lost in the playoffs.

And that was the most recent spell. And the one most closely matched to our current situation.

No thanks.

Edit: And you can add in failures at a host of other clubs since that second spell too.

Granted MKIII did indeed see him take us out of League 1. He failed to turn around the mess that Gary Smith created, that was his failure.

In the same way that whoever takes the full time role from Dino will be culpable should they take us down to the Conference, which could well happen.

Yep, fair enough. His third tenure was a failure and should be remembered not for the balance of his time, but for the period that you feel most appropriately defines him.

Classic.

Whatever happens, i’m sure the club will make the right decision. At the end of the day there will still be a club for everyone to argue the unimportant things in life over, which is more than can be said for Bury fans.

When he left we were in a lower division than when he joined.

That is how I remember it. And is how it was.

What would happen to Sampson though, would he stay as Westley's assistant or would he go and Westley bring his own assistant in ?

Cant see why Sampson would just go though.

Who would you want to be Assistant manager?

If a new manager came in I would imagine there would be a conversation, but I imagine he’d move on.

Would largely depend on whether the new boss wanted to bring in his own team or not. Most usually do.

What's a twitter page? Genuinely. Do you have to be on a desktop computer?
