Sonupé

What does he do?

What position was he supposed to be playing?

Why didn't he play there?

Poor decision to bring him on, or a complete inability to follow tactical instructions?

Should've left Cowley on too. As soon as he went off we dropped 15 yards and they dominated.

If he was told "you're the counter-attack threat, stay forwards" then fine, but you have to tell Joel or Timlin to get across and protect the full-back.

If not then he should have been protecting Fielding far, far better. I counted one occasion where he was where he was needed in that regards. At one point he vaguely pressed their right centre-back leaving Fielding virtually one on three in that corner, and entirely failing to stop them having an easy opportunity to get the ball there.

Fielding isn't blameless, but I have much more of a problem with how Sonupe played than how Fielding played if Sonupe was meant to be a like for like right midfield replacement for Carter.

My opinion is Sonupe was told to support Guthrie but was caught thinking he needed to help out Fielding so ended up in catch22 situation drifting in no mans land because he didn't want to get too far forward in case he had to get back but couldn't get back because he was trying to get forward.

Wildin got two assists on Saturday. And whenever someone else plays right back we get roasted. And yet some people think Wildin is terrible. He may not be perfect but hes good enough for Arsenal ;)

Him and Fielding were an absolute car crash.

But we won. So I don't give a fuck.

I do not give a fuck how far either of their parents have driven in support of them, they are not remotely good enough.

Fielding got absolutely roasted against Salford, he got absolutely roasted every attack today, and gifted them their goal. Young or not, he is miles off the quality needed and should not be playing. Until he is ready to hack it, do not play him. Wildin gets destroyed by some, but shit me he makes the rest look horrendous.

Sonupe is an utter waste of space. His performance today was nothing short of a disgrace. Disgusting lack of discipline, he spent half his time in the middle of the pitch, he gave no support to Fielding and no cover at all. He trotted back when he should have been sprinting to defend. He almost cost us. If that is the best he can offer, he can fuck off.

Sonupe should've replace Cowley if Cowley couldn't continue. An outlet up top.

Bringing on Byrom just meant we had Guthrie isolated up top so it was twenty minutes of clearing the ball and them attacking again.

Terrible subs.

Replacing your entire right side with inexperience and inability.

Thankfully we held on thanks to good defending in the centre.

But Sampson don't half make it hard for us with his subs.

The subs were interesting (and not in a good way).

When Wildin had to come off I'd have replaced him with Kennedy and dropped Watts back into right-back. Kenners can usually win a few free-kicks in their half which allow us to relieve pressure on the defence and give everyone a breather.

Byrom for Cowley left Guthrie isolate and as our clearances got more and more wild we had 0 retention of possession to take the pressure of us defensively. For a moment it looked as though Watts would go up from with him Darius style, but he stay mostly wide left and was rarely close enough up in support.

Finally Sonupe for Carter left us more exposed down the right whilst failing to provide the required support to Guthrie. Each sub left us hanging on a little more precariously than the last, we need to do better to consistently hang on to wins.

Guthrie didn't seem too happy to be left alone up top.

I said similar at Colchester when he took Cowley off. We immediately looked weaker, sat back more, and quickly conceded.

When wilding made that mistake he needed helping with the 3 people they put on him. Instead snoopy goes missing and leaves him exposed.

Guthrie had a go at him twice and so did scotty

He was playing right midfield in a 5-4-1, I think.

But I agree, he was terrible. Pointing fingers at Fielding for not making two players at once, while he ambly jogged around. Admittedly, Fielding fucked it for their goal, but still, Sonoupe could have at least attempted to do more.

Fielding did give it back to sonupe at one point too, basically telling him he wasn’t tracking back.
