A lot of positivity after last week's win. Would losing tomorrow put us back to square one mentally? Personally a loss tomorrow wouldn't worry me too much. (The important game at the moment for me is Morecambe).
Would be delighted with a win though. A draw would probably be the most annoying result unless it was us doing the last minute equalizing. For that reason I think a score draw.
I always feel like Port Vale is a tough place to go but recently remember some better results.

We'll be in the shit if we lose vs Swindon and Morecambe - PW will be under pressure to appoint someone. Although at least beat Morecambe and it should set us right for climbing out of relegation trouble and Sampson will be in a good position for the role on a permanent basis.
Swindon a bit of a free hit, like Port Vale imho - a team going a lot better than us, in the promotion hunt.
Sad that this season has become one of trying to scrap out of relegation trouble though.
2 defeats this week and he needs to go, the new manager bounce hasn't worked.
Win both then appoint him, how long is he going to stay as caretaker?
But all is good in some quarters as MS has bought the squad together, they're all happy, blah, blah. Still only 1 win.
3 people 2 people
Agreed. I'm not in favour of getting rid of Sampson at the moment, but frankly the only thing that matters is getting points on the board - if the players feel like more of a team, great, but it only matters if it's helping us move up the table.
Edit: And one defeat in six games. Step one is to make yourself hard to beat and pick up points regularly, step two is to turn those draws into wins. I am not either for or against MS.

I am against being a joke club who has 4 managers a season. So I'd stick.
As I have previously said, every year the same story is repeated in who drops out of the FL. You are either a) A financial basketcase with shit going on off the pitch or b) You get through three or four managers in a season, giving none of them enough time to turn it around.
We had better not be B.
Then make him permanent or till end of season at least.
Why? What difference would that make to how he or the players or us fans approach things?
PW said he would appoint a permanent manager didn't he but wanted to give MS a chance which he's had. Does he still have doubts?
Well, we're bottom still, so would be worried if he didn't have doubts.
Agree but having Cuthbert and Nugent back think that would have happened anyway.
You'll be counting HSC victories too soon.
Trophy matches should no longer count as first team fixtures.
Obviously, that's our most important cup competition.
Too fucking right I will.
Sampy will blitz past Hadley next month and I will love it.
Whilst Saturday wasn't particularly good, I didn't feel the performance had the stench of death about it. Which is an upgrade.

Losing tomorrow wouldn’t bother you ?
Important game is Morecambe ?
What happens when Morecambe win tonight and beat us Saturday too ?
That’s six points behind the Second worse team in the league 🙄
Morecombe will survive as will us. Oldham on the other hand.......
I think as long as we don't get battered, I feel even a defeat at Swindon is ok, for now. We must not lose against Morecambe, if we do then obviously it is incredibly worrying but anything else over the season we should be fine.
Not sure we'll get much from Swindon, but the next 4 leagues games will define the season for sure!
I don't think it'll be a draw.
2-0, not sure which way though.
And it'll be freezing. And probably drizzly.
Found a nice pub just out of town for lunch though.
This aged well.
I went 2-0 Port Vale too.
port vale have started the season quite well and will be a tough game at there place.
a draw would not be a bad result, but if we nick a win this place will be buzzing tonight.
I always go to the moorland inn.
That's in the town isn't it, is it walkable to the ground? Parking?
I prefer a country pub if there's one within a short drive.
Edit: looks walkable and reasonable, might ignore you there 😏

I park at the ground and walk to it, but from memory you can probably park at the pub and walk to the ground (i.e. no restrictions on parking there, but don't quote me on that).
I will say "alright" and then ignore you if I see you.
Last season, one of their fans said to me in the car park "You lot love to time waste.. you can tell Maamria is an Italian with those tactics"
We’ll smash the c*nts 1-0 they’ll cry about our tactics again and Tom Pope will have a Twitter meltdown
