I can see why you would say that but feel it wasnt his fault and he worked his arse off today. He kept having to come wide to see the ball, and when he had it I said we need two Kurtis's as hes the man you want in the middle. Also did well picking up the long balls to him and held up well. Without him we would have had a lot less possession.

Frustrating when he was on the ball running as you felt a few times he needed to lay it off or pass and just instead ran into trouble.

So whilst there were many frustrating moments with him I still feel him contributed more than enough to the side today.

He had one of those days, especially in the second half. I think if you asked him he’d agree he want at his best. He looked dead on his feet second half which I think was probably the main reason for his showing.

I thought TVC was ok, certainly was doing alright in front of me in the first half. We looked much more exposed down our left side than our right throughout the game. Overall, I think he adds me the Wildin.

Kurtis will create and score changes I just wish he would be a bit tougher in challenges.

Kurtis took a lot of balls on his chest and held possession well.

He did hang onto the ball too long at times when he should have passed though.

Please could I emphasise one point and add a bit more.

Kurtis did hang onto the ball far too long and should have passed to Cowley.

Cowley, on every attack, was running at the goal waiting for that illusive pass from Kurtis. Kurtis either lost the ball or ended up shooting at nothing.

As many have said on here before, give Jason "The Terrier" Cowley the ball and watch him turn defences inside out.

He needs feeding that lad!

However I noticed at least 3 times yesterday where the long ball came over to the front, Kurtis flicked it on but Cowley was too deep, at least 15 yards behind him. If he’s a striker he needs to be higher up the pitch in those situations.

That is true, he will learn.

Cowley's strength, as I see it, is running at defences, waiting for the short pass to then nip into the area, with ball at feet, scattering defenders in all directions.

With experience he will improve on his weaknesses but until then Kurtis and others should use him for what he is lethal at.

You're all being very harsh. "Abysmal"? We kept a clean sheet, so he can't have been that bad.

He tired earlier than you'd like which is understandable after a long injury lay-off, which led to some poor touches and the odd scruffy clearance into touch.

The worst I'd brand his performance was meh, which given the circumstances was enough. All of this hyperbole and extreme language is unnecessary and unhelpful.

FAR better second half.

We actually showed some intensity and tempo. Players moved for the ball and gave us options in possession. We got in behind them.

A long way to go from a performance and quality perspective, and we need to turn up far more consistently than we did today and have done this season, but regardless of the goal that was a much improved 45.

All about the win today, thank Christ we did it.

Kind of agree although not sure there was much difference between the 2 half’s although we did get behind them more 2nd half but our final ball is dreadful. Parrett needs to stay fit, he’s our only genuine player with quality, I like Carter but again is final ball is poor, Denton started to show now he’s fit what he can do, some quality balls in.
If I’m honest I came away today more worried about our survival chances, 3 points were vital but we should be beating teams like Morcambe comfortably.

And now he takes off Lakin - arguably our best player.

It's almost as if he decided before the game that Lakin would go off after 70 mins, irrespective of performance.

I would even say, at this point, even if we scrape a 1-0 win, it isnt good enough and Sampson needs to go.

His insistence on playing Watts in midfield and his bizarre substitutions give me no confidence that he knows what he's doing.

All the mattered was getting 3 points today, we did that, let's move on.

It is - or it can be - but I would contend that struggling to overcome Morecambe at home most definitely ISN’T a recipe for success and shows just how much we’ve still got to do to improve.

3 Points taken whatever the performance. The stand in keeper looked comfortable, Cuthbert solid, TVC decent, Lakin early on looked good, Cowley runs around and puts a shift in, not sure he's a league player (however did feel for him as Guthrie could of played in in twice but elected not to. Guthrie frustrates, so good in some games and completely off in others. Watts works hard but is a centre halve playing in centre/left midfield. They players look like they are player for Sampson.
