Big save by Farman again at the start. If that goes in the game could have been very different!

Player of the season.

Digby has been immense every game too. Having him and Dabo together in midfield when Cuthbert is back arouses me greatly.

I'd rather Digby alongside Cuthbert. We don't need two DMs alongside each other, IMO.

I wonder if Digby hadn't been instantly injured at the start of the season, if we'd be arguing about whether or not Dino should get the sack for having us in 17th right now.

I feel like we might.

I think we would have picked up some more points and been around 19th which is far from good enough.

Having decided to get rid of him we should have got Westley in straight away. We wasted 14 games just doing the same thing but with a nicer manager.

And we sacked Dino right before two easy home games, normally ideal to give the new manager a nice little welcome boost, except Sampson fucked it up. Had we kept Dino until 10 games I think wed have been in a slightly better position. (But still not good enough)

I'm going to bite. When Sampson came in he had to pick Fernandez and Watts as his CB pairing as that's all we had available. I'd like to see Westley pick up positive results with two youngsters in defence.

He had El-Abd which for whatever reason hasn't worked out.
We got nothing but a positive review from our friend Phil at Wycombe about Adam.
This was Dinos frustration. And when the sacking happened he was shocked. He knew he could get a win from Carlisle or Northampton.... His view not mine. He had 8 unavailable for the Tuesday. But appointing Mark is what we do isn't it. Never normal or straightforward. Taylor, Sheringham, Smith. All names that you wouldn't expect to see at SFC.
But I think Sev is right. Of all the injuries we got, Dino was most gutted about Digby.

We can't keep going for managers because they've have a previous affiliation for the club. To be fair to Mark he had/has the passion we all like to see at Boro. Westley was still picking up the same results (if not worse) than Sampson before yesterday but hopefully these new lads can really turn the corner for us.

You do realise that we don't pay very much don't you?

Passion? I've never asked for passion. I want a leader that gets players playing better. I think some of these players got off the hook when Dino left. Others like Ben and Taylor didn't. For whatever reason. They both probably made it easy for the caretaker.

Gary Smith used to get hammered for having his hands in his pockets throughout the games. Our fanbase love movement on the touchline/dugouts, a bit of fist pumping towards the east.

Only GW gets a fair crack of the whip at Stevenage.

Who doesn’t love to see a manager who looks as if he cares?

Smith got hammered because we were shit and he didn’t seem to have a clue. If he’d been a success he could rubbed his tummy and patted his head simultaneously on the touch line and nobody would have cared.

PW misses more than he hits when appointing managers I think it’s safe to say. But what I like about him is that he doesn’t just grab whoever is unemployed from the Football League managerial merry go round. It’s either someone who hasn’t managed in the league before (except Taylor) or Westley.

Great to see.

And the things I noted because they support my views:

First goal, a long ball/hoof getting the ball where it needs to be. No need to be snobbish about long ball. (List did tremendously)

3rd goal, Cassidy (edit: oh that was Leesley but still) running back and winning the ball, led to the goal. Guthrie would be standing offside with his arms out moaning.

Last goal, full back and winger working together in attack. That's what Wildin brings.

General, Dabo winning tackles and playing it simple.

All in all very nice to see these improvements.

Agree with all of that.

For me the first goal shows why it was a bit silly playing List at RB - he can create something out of nothing when he plays up top or high on the right wing with his pace, control and finishing. He seems to finish every chance he gets.

Neat finish, yeah.

Carter's was decent too, tbf. Just from the highlights, looks like having someone behind him might have given a bit of freedom to get forward.

How hilarious was that number 4 watching him skip past?!

Who'd have though not using your attacking midfielders as defensive ball winners might see them playing better ;-)
