National League Update 24th

The National League board will meet on Friday to discuss the next steps after deciding to end their regulation seasonearlier this week.

In addition to discussing whether it is feasible to continue with the play-offs, the board is expected to provide a few options which will determine how teams conclude the campaign.

Clubs will be asked for their views and the National League has said each future decision will be clearly laid before them before any final determination is made.

As it stands, the English Football League (EFL) is still working on the principle of two teams getting promoted - but that will depend on whatever format the National League decides.

The EFL also needs to balance its divisions for next season after Bury's expulsion meant only 23 sides were left competing in League One.

Regarding the EFL needing to balance its divisions because of the Bury situation how would that work out regarding promotion and league 2 ?

Is this correct or just the National Leagues view or, hope .If not surely EFL should be deciding first how to conclude their leagues are completed if remaining games cannot be played and they then just have to fit in with it ?

If the season is voided which it should be there will be no relegation from league 2.
And as for picking a team to get promoted to league1 to fill Bury space good luck.

I expect the season written off so people can’t make legal complaints about the final outcomes which should have been the approach from the start top to bottom led by the FA.

National league champions will only get a place if a team moves to league 1. That’s not going to happen either.

It’s simple if the season is voided. 23 teams in League One again, same promotion/relegation plan as this season. Us staying up due to it is a bit of karma for 1996.
