Don't even know how they can afford it, If they lose the appeal surely that's going to have repercussions as well and not just financially either, that could be the final straw that pushes them over the edge and makes them fold as a club. They broke the rules frequently all season so therefore relegation is fair and just worthy and the EFL did the correct thing because otherwise how corrupt would it be for them to keep Macclesfield in the division when they failed to pay their players on more than half a dozen occasions.

They've mentioned 2 things.

1. Whether they can take the point decision to a higher court - this they won't do/won't win/is too late.

2. The concept that the EFL said they would inky relegate a club out of the league if there was a league to be relegated into and that depends on how certain of the Conference are of fulfilling the 2020-21 season. So they are arguing that there is no certainty that non-league will go ahead and therefore they shpuldnt be relegated.

That won't affect us either, just means there might be an extra team in the league.

Edit: didn't realise the link wasn't in the opening post: explains it here:

Re point 2 to be fair to them if we had got relegated there would have people on here saying we should argue this

But if they now find money to fund any appeal this should go to existing creditors first. Not an expert on company law but I suspect even if someone gifts this money to the club it becomes capital which should be used for the correct purpose first.

I don't think it was just people on this forum saying we would have appealed on those grounds, it was a legitimate legal option given the uncertaintly over the National League.

I don't know how much it would cost to appeal on this basis. I would have thought it would be relatively easy to get someone on the case if the owner knows a lawyer, etc. But you're right, the club is a shitshow.

And yet they have ONE, yes ONE registered player for 2020/2021 and no Manager.

When does the League Two season start? Yep, good luck with that one! Even if they win the appeal, what then?

They are on a life support machine and sometimes it is better in the long run to just end their suffering.

Lawyers ain't stupid. They'll want cash up front.

Man City spent a fortune taking it to the top sports court in the world.
