I really don't know what the plan was for this game.

59% pass completion in the first half isn't something a professional football team shoud be doing. I rated the first half as even at best.

Our midfield is obsulete most of the time when attacking, and using defenders to pump it long against a team with a giant defense was never going to win. A lot of the time it felt people who had the ball were put in a hopeless spot with no one running to them to receive the ball, so resorted to hoofing it.

Just chucking on more attacking players has not worked not just today but countless times I've watched Stevenage.

I've got a lot of love for Revs and his enthusiasm, but surely Phil would've learned from last season that you need a manager who has managed at this level before to avoid last years shit show, and I can't help but feel that if we have improved from then, then it is minimal.

For what it is worth, Morecambe hired Derek Adams when we were technically managerless, and their squad isn't any better than ours player for player mostly

Apart from maybe a lack of urgency, all I could think to say after that would be 'Dont fuck up and shit the bed'. The familiar collapse was worrying in the extreme.

My main 'beef' is that first half we looked good, probably had the better chances. Read and Osborne looked good, but had to absolutely bust their guts. Clearly there was too much space for Orient.

As soon as the 2nd half started only one team were going to win it. Orient made a HT swap, tweaked their formation and were away. 15 minutes in, instead of adapting we make two 'like for like' tactics, swaps.

The rest is history.

I’m sorry but there’s nothing different about this from last season.
Not good enough.

Aitchison taking what 6 or so corners, all of them poor delivery. Change it up! Read’s deliveries have been much better in previous games.

Newton couldn’t score in a brothel - why is he starting today? Effiong should getting the nod.

Admittedly List has been quiet but probably the only player that has some proper pace about him.

Why are we playing 5 at the back when we can’t score?

I give Revs 10 more games. I’m sorry but the experience is Abundantly obvious. No plan B - no identity about our play.

I think there is an element of both. We are being allowed to dictate the game so we look good. That is ideal for us and when we play side worse than us that is what will happen hopefully.

Against the good sides, we can't control the game and look shit as a result, resorting to fouls and hoofing.

Need to get the 3 points though to take advantage of us being better. No good being better side and drawing, or worse still conceding a goal from an error or a one off piece of good play from them.

Everything fine apart from pass quality and selection. Be interesting to see how we respond to going behind or where Carter would fit in.

Read and Osborne looks a functional midfield unit, I think this formation can be made to work with the players available. Just need to be better at it.

I'd take Newton off, push Atchison up and put Carter in at 10. Then Atchison off for Effiong at some point.

Really? Maybe Sampo will struggle to get the respect of players from certain backgrounds. Another reason for him to emigrate to Siberia with Bigboy Leon The Hunter.

Will be interesting to see if that's 4-4-2 with Wildin and Hutton as the RB/RM, or if its 3-2-1-3 with Wildin at CB, Hutton at RWB and Coker at LWB.

5 2 1 2 again isnt it.

Wildin is quite good at RCB.

Hutton not as good as Wildin at RWB though. Crossing/passing is wasteful.

Osborne and Read look good. Both defensively and going forward. They are work their arses off and winning the midfield battle, helping out at the back too.

Getting in some good positions in the final third just not quite finishing it off.

Happy enough with that half, if we keep at it and Orient don't change it (which I would if I was them) then should see more opportunities.

Need to test the keeper a bit more I think.

I don't see how we can find any form or consistency when the team changes every week/4 days.

Wonder what formation we will play today. No Prosser so Marshall CB presumably?

Good that List is back in, but I'd have swapped him for Newton.

Hope he find his first XI soon and sticks with it, in the same formation, for a period of time, with only one of two like for like changes depending on fitness etc.
