Miserable

Right miserable bunch of fuckers, you lot.

Everyone was pretty positive at HT, we were the better side, were comfortable, created the most and better chances and looked alright. Now everybody thinks it was the worst performance ever and wants everybody sacked. Let's not get into the same position as last season of sacking a manager every ten games and then further unsettling the squad. Ridiculous.

If Danny Newton wasn't so useless and buried that chance from six yards out, or Luther Wildin didn't gift them their opener then we don't lose that today. Sure, all ifs and buts and he didn't score and he did gift the goal, and we did lose, and sure it is a lot of defeats and another failure to score, but each loss thus far is down to individual errors. They can be turned around. Southend and Scunthorpe have scored even fewer than us and conceded more than double! They have a -13 and -14 GD. They should be panicking and talking about changing things, for us it is too early.

We will not finish below more than two of Southend, Scunthorpe, Oldham and Barrow, and we will stay up. If you went into the season expecting us to be anything above 18th-20th at best then more fool you. Those of us who were realistic and knew it would be tough to turn around last season and realised we signed a squad for the Conference are not throwing our toys out of the pram just eight games in.

Would cost "tens of thousands" of pounds apparently.

Obviously we could buy some black netting from Homebase for £13.95 a roll, or packs of 50 black bin liners for £4.80 from Asda, or any number of other options instead.

But nah, that would be effort and is only something the fans have politely requested to enhance their viewing experience. Why would the club want to help them? Afterall these fans have only paid £300+ each to get nothing more than shitty iFollow passes, with awful camerawork and fuck-all on the pitch. They will flood back again next season to lap it all up again. The utter mugs.

I said we would finish above one of Macclesfield or Morecambe. And we did.

It isn't baseless, it is based on a very good of knowledge of L2 and the squads within it (entered the SA Prediction Competition five times, won a prize five times, I know this league).

If we were the dregs we would be bottom. We are not and we will not be even if we don't make any changes.

But then you are one of the most depressive and miserable contributors there has ever been so I am not in any way surprised by your standard moaning and fearmongering.

Something has to change if we're going to start getting results. I don't think changing the manager/coaching set up (at this stage) is the answer but continuing to play in the manner we have in recent times is almost certainly going to end with us being relegated.

The first half was an improvement on recent performances but that's not saying much. Our play at the moment is too unimaginative, we created one decent chance in the first half (Newton) but aside from that we only worked the goalkeeper from range.

I do believe we can turn this around but it requires a change of approach. We're not playing world beaters, only three of the sides we've faced so far are in the top half, playing such dull, negative football is disappointing to see.

I didnt watch yesterday, but the first half was probably only better because Orient are worse than Forest Green and Newport

So our level is the performance and result from yesterday against teams who will finish 15th-20th. The performances before that of teams who might finish top 10

The only team we've beaten is cannon fodder Oldham, and even they are level on points with us in the table

That is our standard. We will be cannon fodder to most teams and we might pick up a win or 2 against Oldham, Southend or Scunthorpe if we're lucky unless something drastic changes

I make you right Andy. When you look at our better performances and results they've come against the sides that are currently around us in the table.

We need to try and find a way to get results against the better sides in this league. I don't think it's impossible for this group to get results from games but maybe I'm deluding myself.

Terrible approach to have.

We can't control what other teams do. We can control what we do. Relying on other teams being worse than us, especially so early in the season, is ridiculous.

I'm more concerned after today BECAUSE we played well.

We play well and lose. We play badly and lose but at least when we play badly there is room for improvement.

Plenty of games left to turn things around, but there is a definite sense of de ja vu. So let's not repeat the mistakes of last season. (Which we have already started doing by signing 8 strikers)

It is no less ridiculous than wanting everybody sacked yet again every eight games.

And it is a realistic viewpoint considering the situation we find ourselves in. The point is, we will not finish beneath them even if we do nothing, so it gives us the time to see if Revell and the squad can sort themselves out rather than sacking everyone with kneejerk reactions after eight games.

But if you want them all sacked, what happens if the new lot only pick up a few points in their eight games? Sack them all too? That is repeating the mistakes of last season that you are claiming we shouldn't do. Make your mind up.

No, you went off on one about wanting everyone sacked so I was just letting you know my own position. You often make up the argument of the other side so you can appear to be the one making a rational argument against it, when the other person wasn't even making the point you were arguing against.

No need to overreact I agree, but there is a need to react and not just brush it off because there are worse sides than us. What if those sides react and get better.
