Anyway, change of subject

By Chuds25/10 10:50Sun Oct 25 10:50:18 2020

Who do we want to get knocked out by in tomorrow's FA Cup draw?

The least exciting first round draw we have ever been involved in, knowing there is no chance we can even attend whoever we get.

Just give us Skelmersdale, Marine, Canvey Island, Maldon & Tiptree or Cray Valley to give us the best chance of progressing and making some money, and make it at home so we don't miss out on a fun away trip.

Edit: We are ball 43 by the way.

We have the cream of non league playing for us. If Marsh and Effiong cant score a hattrick each I'd be very surprised. Might even get double figures as a team.

Who do we want in the second round?

It doesn't matter who we get in the FA Cup – no-one can go. As Thora says, it'll be the away day we've always wanted.

Are Farsley Celtic still in the hat. I can watch over the fence for that one.

Cray Valley away, my cousin lives by Woolwich Common so might could be on for tickets. To a humiliating defeat perhaps, but it’s a bit of fresh air.

Is there no chance of fans even if we get a really small club away? I saw there were fans allowed at some games yesterday?

I would say no for two reasons.

1) Apparently (have not verified) R1 onwards will count as Elite and so no fans will be able to attend at all.

2) If point 1 above is not the case, clubs below Conf N/S are only allowed "home/neutral" fans and no away fans if the away club is Conf N/S or above. To try to enforce this most clubs in this position in the qualifying rounds have only accepted ticket sales from people in their local postcodes, so unless you happen to know somebody who lives nearby with a suitable postcode that can get you one you won't get the chance. Add in the fact behing in the First Round for every club playing at the level that fans are allowed is a huge deal, they will easily sell out to their local fans/populations, especially if playing a FL club.

Is there a list of the prize money per round? We want to get the easiest ties possible to try and get as far as possible to get the cash. No point pulling a bigger team out with no crowds.

Prizemoney has been massively cut this season because of Covid.

£22,629 for winning R1, £34k for R2. Was £36k & £54k last season.

Our best chance of making money is to be drawn against a small club so we can win and it is televised live. Not seen whether broadcasting fees have also been cut this season but last year each club got £67.5k for being shown live in R1 and £72k for R2.

FA has tonight changed the prizemoney for this year's competition and reduced the payment to winning clubs!

Instead of being £22,629 & £34k, it is now £16,972 & £25,500, with the difference now going to the losing clubs in each round.

Financially a win is now really not going to make much difference at all.

It is from R3 onwards when the big clubs enter, because as with everything the FA does it is skewed in their favour.
