Another point on the board, I suppose. Just a shame we couldn't make a lot of our good possession count. Pretty much a 6-7/10 across the board for everyone on both sides. No-one doing anything remarkable, and a 0-0 was likely fair.

Martin MOTM, outstanding from him.

That last 20 minutes was a disgrace. Revs in game management is non existent.

How Lines played the full 90 with Read on the bench i have no clue.

I think I'd be pretty disappointed if I was Read.

Martin was excellent, I agree. His first touch is exceptional and he always pushes himself into space. Very rarely seems to take himself into trouble.

Hutton going off completely derailed the game.

A point is a point.

there will be a nice rugby game on Friday night.
so it will a waste of time in going on Saturday the fa should have
a inspection by a ref on Friday night if the pitch is unfit deduct 24 points.
then ask Newport F.C to make a decision about next season rugby or football.

I don't think the issue is enjoyment, but the fact they get more practice playing on it. In order to compete teams need a squad of 15 Worzel Gummidge's.

Like turning the hot water off and turning the heating right up (or off) in their dressing room, washing the benches just before they come in so they're damp, removing half the light bulbs and making sure the door doesn't shut properly.

All perfectly normal.

I have no idea on the ins-and-outs of the murky ethics within the game. Is it normal? Maybe. Maybe not. I truly have no idea.

But, whether it's normal or not I would agree that like a churned up pitch, these things will no doubt help the home team.

It was crying out for changes from 70 minutes onwards.

Lines again off the pace, what does Read have to do to get on the pitch?

Too many players fell away in the second half, Revell needed to freshen it up but waited too late to make any real difference.

Disappointed tonight as at half time I thought we were by far the better team.

Hutton injured.

Not sure who else could have come on.

Bit of a shame cos we'll prob lose a bit of attacking down that side now, as I would guess a left footed player at right back won't be quite as comfortable driving forward. Unless he drives inside which might be susceptible to counter attacks.

I don't love those balls that Hutton plays down the line. Just seems like a waste of possession to me. I guess we got a throw from it, but they'll clear more than they put out of play. Plus it's just making Newton make pointless runs into the channel, into a position that he can't really advance from.

Just curious of your opinion on this hypothetical:

If a player has a 43% forward pass completion, for example, but occasionally hits a good long pass, does that mean the player is a good passer of the ball?

Hypothetical, obviously, since I don't know the actual stats.

I don’t pay much attention to his passing to be honest as he is a top defender and it outweighs his (lack of) passing ability.

From memory I don’t recall any hospital passes directly resulting in a goal so it doesn’t bother me much

Edit: More concerned about Chris Lines passing at the moment. Sideways, backwards or to the opposition.

Yeah, he was off the pace last week too. Maybe needs a rest. Even the commentators said that he wasn't up to his usual.

For what its worth, I also think Cuthbert's strengths outweigh his weaknesses. Doesn't make poor distribution any less annoying for me, though. I just feel like it's such an easy thing to address.

If you want perfection watch ManCity
This is League bloody 2
They play at this level for a reason
That may be there passing isn't consistent
The most important thing to look for at any level is Decision making by the individual

I was more referring to the fact that there was a game a few weeks back where we conceded from a superb counter attack and everyone said it was TVCs fault, and then Cuthbert makes a great block today after a decent counter attack, and that was somehow TVCs fault as well. Like why can't it just be that Cuthbert is having a decent game instead of having to jab at TVC?

I guess I just dont understand why everyone defends Coker so much, but are so quick to criticize TVC. I just dont get it. TVC is streets ahead of Coker, but if you believed the comments on here, you'd think the opposite.

I assume Newton and List up top, Aitchison and Osborne on the wings and Pett and Lines in the middle.

Joe Martin back in his more familiar role; doing some attack-defending from left back. ;-)

Solid lineup, other than swapping James-Wildin for Hutton, that's arguably our strongest XI.

I'm just waiting for us to keep a clean sheet so I can use it to disrupt the idea that us keeping clean sheets is a sign that Coker is good, when instead it shows that our good defense is down to the whole team, not the individuals.
