This second half has not been a good advert for League Two football...

I'll be delighted if we hang on, cos this game should have finished 0-0.

The problem is because he's small and fast, he always gets stuck on the wing, especially if the team plays a lone striker. He needs to be playing for a team that plays a 2 striker system.

That long throw is awesome, great trajectory, got to be worth 3-4 goals a season.

If other fullbacks and coaches aren't studying his technique they bloody should do.

Good, because it's not medically possible. You can be hyper-flexible but watching his technique his arms and shoulders don't bend abnormally, he does arch his back quite a bit but again not freakishly so. It's more the speed of the whip as he brings his arms forward.

There will be a degree of natural ability I guess.

You'd think the speed would come from the triceps and shoulders but if it's like cricket, the main difficulty would be in repeating the action consistently. I don't think even Rory Delap knew he could do his ones until he just tried it one day.

It's a weird one because you wouldn't normally train for it so how would you even know who has the potential to do it best? I dont think just being hench means you are automatically better at them or Ash would've taken a sick one.

On a couple of occasions, when playing against Stoke, the GK would intentionally clear the ball for a corner instead of a throw. They’d rather defend a corner than a Delap throw in

I'm not sure that Lines is actually as good as we initially thought he was. He's decent enough, but I think him and Pett offer the same, except Pett is a lot more mobile. I also think Lines is a bit of a liability defensively. He pulls out (or doesn't make) a lot of tackles and gives the ball away with opportunistic passing. He almost gave away a goal against FGR on Tuesday making a ridiculous cross field pass when almost the entire team was in front of him.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying he's total shit, but I dont think he's that good either. And I dont know that we need him and Pett doing the same job. I think I'd probably rather Pett and Read.

The commentators made a reasonable point that our midfield doesn't score enough. Osborne looks like he would have bagged a few if he played the whole season, but neither Lines or Pett offer much of a goal threat. That said, neither does Read.

I was thinking of bringing Read on for Lines.

He has been frustrating as he is getting in the ball and is in the right place but seems to be messing up the easy bits.

Thought the first 20 mins were like Tuesday, Harrogate dominating, we were a bitbslopy with passing (Wildin, Osborne and Prosser all giving balls early unforced).

I kept watching today though as nothing else to do, and we then started to look better. Getting in positions where we should've made more of the situation. A few decisions at key times letting us down.

Happy enough though if we continue in this manner a goal looks likely to come.

I don't like their bald number 9.

And coupled that with playing long ball.

Like fair enough if you wanna play 5-3-2, it can be a decent counter attacking formation. I also don't actually think it's as negative as playing 5 at the back sounds. But playing 5-3-2 and playing long ball makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. It's utterly pointless playing wing backs if you're going to play long ball because they will just constantly be in transition and never part of the play.

Yeah, see my thoughts above RE: Lines.

When we get the ball down and play, we look so much better. We have some decent passers and a lot of players with speed, so playing direct, but with the ball on the floor, suits us very well. Just a shame we don't do it more consistently.
