Bar east terrace

I took some friends with me who have not been to a Stevenage game in some time, we was on the east terrace. they were shocked they could not get an alcohol beverage at half time , was shocked they stopped this also.
Might seem so petty to some but it really does but a downer on the match day experience. Drinking all day before excited, it’s nice to have a cheeky one or two at half time, waiting all game without another drink does put a downer on the match day experience.
Don’t see why the club can’t do this? It’s money plus helps keep new fans, my friends wasn’t too impressed and I’m sure others will feel the same.

I just sneak a hip flask of vodka into the ground and swig away at that.

If you have been drinking all day, why need a top up at half time, surely you all needed to use the toliets?

Why were your friends so shocked they couldn't get a drink at half time? They must have needed a tea or coffee instead or a burger to soak up the Alcohol?

Why does not having a drink at half time put a downer on the game?

Surely you and your friends are there to watch the game and not being there to enjoy a half time pint which you all can do after?

Because they use to be able to when they went? And they’re use to going to premiership grounds where this is normal.
Because it’s a day out drinking/socialising with friends (especially when they come to watch Stevenage) and the day out drinking is stopped as soon as they enter the ground..

Some chat from the studies they did of the sporting test events earlier in the summer that if you want to prevent transmission of COVID in grounds, letting people take a beer in the stands might be a better option than having everyone crowded together under a stand...

Would require a change in primary legislation.

Sadly not gonna happen.

Unless the ball is the rugby type

See what you are saying but you could apply that to the North Stand as well then.

Queues normally too big for a quick half time pint.

A pint of overpriced and uninspiring chicken?

Edit: On a serious note though, I was surprised by how full that bar always appeared to be and how many people were willing to stand out in the cold and wet for a HT beer, so am surprised more hasn't been done to try to maximise revenues, although there is the key issue of there being nowhere obvious it could be situated.

Would have to bring it out the back into the car park really or have a walkway round to the Stripes like in non-league. That would need policing though.
