stevenage charged by the f.a

so Stevenage have been charged by the f.a for not controlling their players after saturdays match.
may be the f.a should look into Swindons fans who attempted to cause as much troble as they could.
also the f.a could have a look at their ref who lost control of the game.

Unfortunately, they're right. The ref's report will say that one of our players became aggressive towards the Swindon team, provoking the melee.

Knowing the authorities, I'm surprised we've not also been charged over the crowd trouble ie insufficient stewarding / policing, unless that will become a separate matter to answer.

Serious Question- Who is ultimately responsible for conduct of away fans the home or away side.Could not the away side say outside their control plus its down to the individuals and/or the home club should have sufficient stewarding/policing.

PS Answer to this probably on FA site but impossible to find.

The legal duty of care to ensure the safety of all persons in the ground sits with the home club.

That places a burden on the home club, set out by a safety advisory group (SAG), to ensure sufficient stewards, first aid provision and where appropriate, policing. The focus of the SAG is as much, if not more, on safety and fire/bomb threat evacuation as it is on trouble.

That's not to say the FA cannot sanction the visiting club where their fans demonstrate poor behaviour, but that's football rules, not the law. Swindon may get a fine but they are more likely to get a bill from us for damage (which they could ignore but probably won't) and a letter from the FA.

And the approach of the FA and EFL will generally focus on the home club first.

So Stevenage will probably be required to review and enhance their stewarding and safety plan for when we get a large away attendance. The SAG will be more risk averse, so the club will have to pay more.

So by trying to save money on policing and stewards we’ve potentially cost ourselves more as we are likely to need greater numbers going forward?

Having watched the footage again I cant see anything warranting a charge. Plus they refer to 92nd minute ie penalty not what happened after final whistle.

Apart from usual response seen up and down the country on any given saturday - which ref dealt with by issuing yellow card - nothing of any note :-(

Seems like we are being singled out here.

The FA have and always will be, at best dodgy, at worst corrupt. F**king joke of an organisation.

A complete joke. The f.a. that is.

Yet Swindon fans get away with flares, vandalism and intimidation.
