Who should take the blame...

I've been watching Boro' since 1995 and I have lost count of the many mediocre managers that have taken up the stewardship of our club. Is it twenty or even more and over that time only two possibly three impressed. We had a half decent run at the end of last season which by all accounts were masterminded by Wilkinson. It certainly saved us from relegation.

Someone has already said that we have almost regularly plucked someone from relative obscurity and given them the reins. It clearly doesn't work and if it's not sorted out soon we will be doomed to non league never mind our flashy stand. So what's to be done? I've no doubt at all that our manager will be gone by Christmas probably sooner,

Boro needs someone who has clearly demonstrated success in this or other leagues. Not someone who 'looks' the part or has a good coaching record. Not some one who played for or managed England briefly either.

No we need a good journey man manager I'm sure that there are many candidates out there who could do a good job here at The Lamex. I do hope that GW wasn't the only man that came forth when wanted there are surely other Graham Westleys with really good records waiting for their momemt. But the question is will Phil do the business of do what he always does and make a balls up of it.

I think we also need to be thinking about what identity we want, and hiring a manager that fits that mould.

I also think we should look at someone overachieving in the Conference with a team that may not be able to go much further.

I can't imagine Wilkins has a completely opposite style view or approach and Revell is just ignoring him and his input. Therefore Wilkins is part of any perceived problem with the tactics.

So you’d give someone who isn’t a manager the manager’s job?

Good post.

The manager is the most important man at the club yet we always go for the cheap option. Lol.

Instead of signing absolute chops like Simeon Jackson let’s spend some cash on a good coach eh?
