Fleetwood last 8 games 12 points total
Boro last 8 games 11 points total
Not a forgone Boro win on Saturday even though Fleetwood are at the opposite end of the table.
Banana skin?

Nope.
Third home win on the spin incoming. 100% record maintained over Fleetwood.

Fleetwood gave us way more of a test at their place than the scoreline suggests. It's definitely got the potential to be tricky.

At the time I thought they would finish top half.

I remember us having that discussion after the away game, where you believed they should have got something out of the game but I at no stage during the game felt we wouldn't win it (despite them creating chances), though I will happily admit it wasn't a 3-0 performance, we were just very clinical and them awfully wasteful.
We really need to be more clinical in front of goal again, and start picking the correct passes. An early goal for Reid and we can relax and win comfortably.

I think Evans has made that point that Reid was, as the kids would say, "outperforming his XG" in the first half of the season. We can't bank on it coming back.

Looking at the table, I’d suggest that the top 3 playoff positions are 80% certain and it’s therefore us who are collectively in charge of the rope ladder. We’re there to be shot at by everyone below us, so every game is a potential banana skin now…

In terms of mentality, I think we need to be thinking we are still aiming for 2nd place or even 3rd place. If you get in the mindset of just maintaining 7th place that's when you start to drop. If mentally you are going into each game thinking if we win this (and the next and the next) we can get up the table then you're pushing yourself that extra mile each time.
In reality it is just 7th we are fighting for but don't let your brain think that.

Whoops, still thinking of League 2.
*6th (fighting to avoid 7th!)
