Someone needs to do an info sheet, listing the players and ome personal facts etc. whether they were liked, loved or meh, who the good teams were at the time etc.
For those of us who didn't attend back then.

From that clip, clearly Martin Gittings and Tony Lynch. Then less clear, but I think I saw Nigel 'Mad Dog' Hann, a left back in the Julian Dicks/ Pearce mould. Next to him are Hayles and Crawshaw. Then Mark Smith and Des Gallagher have a chat. Richard Nugent then looks a bit pissed on the stage.

BoroGuide have some excellent pages that would cover some of these. Helpfully, lots of the players are mentioned by name in the full video so with a BoroGuide squad list it should be simple enough to work out who's who.
I think the only important context missing from the tape is that it's all taking place after we won the league on a night we weren't playing. Enfield, our title rivals, had a backlog of fixtures and a draw for them on a night we weren't playing meant they could no longer overtake us.

You do.realise half of the Borochat forum wouldn't know what the term blue movies refers to Grandad.
Next you'll be referencing hedge porn.

That's great to hear. I can't wait to relive the memories I had that season, which was my first season as a Boro fan.Â
Â
The only downfall I can remember that season was the FA Trophy game against Kettering, when a group of Corby wannabe hooligans tested their luck against Boro fans, who taught them idiots a lesson that day.Â
Â
I remember being sat on the old East Terrace wall, and all of a sudden my dad said to me, Quick, get on the pitch, and lifted me over the wall, and then seeing the stewards shouting, That's enough, and seeing some fan getting punched over the wall a little further down from where I was with my dad.
I remember the police dogs turning up as well.

The season before I started going but still nostalgia overload with some of those players. Great shirts too.
Non league football in the 90s was brilliant. Everything in the 90s was tbf 🤣

I didn't realise our matches were filmed in those days. We certainly have some history, brilliant watching that footage.

Pretty sure that was the first season matches were filmed on a regular basis. Programmes from that year mention you could get videos of all home games and some away games for a tenner at the club shop, while the season review that we posted cost ÂŁ13 for SA members and ÂŁ15 for non-members.
We only found out while digitising this tape that the Conference had had games broadcast live on cable telly from this season onwards, initially on Wire TV and then L!VE TV.
Edit: Pretty sure that the full match videos continued all through the 90s, with programmes from 1999-00 advertising that tapes from all matches (home and away) were available from the club shop. Would love to hear from anyone who bought any, particularly if you still have them.

Yeah there were vhs videos available for those seasons IIRC.
I never thought I’d ever see Gitts’ blatant handball at Alty ever again… it would just be lodged in the recesses of my mind. Instead it was there in front of me at 8 mins 14 seconds!! And a 17 year old me bundling Humpo and Simon Mortimer after Lynchy put in the rebound!!

Was great fun to be able to digitise it - and there's plenty more coming from us too.
Always on the lookout for any more old Boro footage. If anybody has any video tapes or DVDs they'd like to see digitised, we're happy to do so, completely free of charge - just drop us a message on social media or email us at stevenagefootballarchive [at] gmail . com.

Those tapes have been in storage for a while with an aim to one day digitising them, we’re super glad Stevenage Archive could help with that mission.
More uploads to come too with some incredible rare footage for sure, and a wonderful way to preserve some history for old and new fans to view on Stevenage Archive’s YouTube channel.
We urge anyone with old tapes to get in touch with us @TheBroadhallWay or @StevenageFA for a free digitisation service, let’s keep recognising our our brilliant history and former icons.
TBW.
