I left after about an hour with the score at 2-2, but Hamlet more than held their own for the first half against a Palace XI including their latest signing from Cardiff City, experienced Premier League striker Fraizer Campbell.
First half Hamlet highlight was a superbly taken goal by Hamici to make it 1-1, showing stength and control to get past his marker on the outside and beating the keeper at the near post with a ferocious rising drive. Clunis was also a consistent atta king threat on the right while Carew despatched another textbook penalty after a defender had handled a cross just before Hamici could get his head on the end of it. Unfortunately slack defending allowed the visitors to equalise within a couple of minutes.
Teams: Hamlet (4-3-3): Echepare - Kamara, Forbes(c), Pinnock, Patterson - Carew, James, Samuels - Clunis, Hamici, Lodge.
Subs: Vidal, Robinson, Boyle, Bangura, Mansaray, Hysi, Gonsalves.
Palace: (1 to 11): Gregory, Egbo, George, Sow, Magri, Croll, Allassani, Gabsi, Campbell, Dobbie, Kai Kai.
Subs: De Silva, Ferrier, Chambers, Berkeley-Agyepong, Inniss, Black.
