Frankly I think this sort of thing is bollocks. Unless we need a replay with Chalfont we'll now have two weeks with no match, with Maidstone away already off due to the FA Cup. Even Premier League clubs aren't allowed to postpone league games before Champions League Semi Finals etc. and I see no good reason why ETU (or anyone else in our league for that matter) shouldn't fulfil a Tuesday night fixture like this. (If they need a Trophy replay I'm sure the FA will make them play it on 4 Nov anyway.) If the winter has set in by late November, and then clubs start getting bogged down with county cup ties taking precedence etc. the game could end up being shoehorned in at the end of the season. That's what happened with the notorious Leatherhead replay of thed abandoned game. It took three months to fit in, finally going ahead o the penultimate midweek, by which time five of our XI for the original game were unavailable through injury and suspension, and we lost. Ellis Green effectively missed that game due to a suspension triggered partly by a booking in the abandoned game - the only statistic from that match that ever counted for anything.
