Definitely an action-packed 2nd half with a penalty decision more hotly disputed than any I've seen in more than 30 years watching football. At one point, I thought our boys were going to walk off and refuse to play the rest of the game. Very, very lucky only to get one sending off. However bad the decision - and it was appalling (but not as bad as the one the night before in the Birmingham/Cardiff game) - I think we need to watch our discipline a bit. Waldren and Wilson could easily have gone too. Fortuitously, the sending off worked to our advantage. Ashley's free kicks haven' t really been firing lately, and it would have been him taking the kick in the last min. As he'd left the field, it fell to Scannell (and the wind) to curl the ball in, to trigger a celebration that was, frankly, orgiastic. Scannell's now really playing well in pretty much every game, I think. Defence looked pretty solid even when we were down to 10 men.
