Well just to start a little thread here. Another abject performance with seemingly no end to a run of disappointing form. Although we played a little better we still look devoid of attacking threat and rarely produced any clear cut opportunities
The problems now clearly run deep. For the first time the players came to the supporters and received a less than warm welcome from at least one person who said the players need to look at themselves. This was met with a 'colourful' response from one player in particular. Interestingly in the last 5 years this is the first time ive ever heard loud dissent from our side of the fence. At many clubs the last 5 weeks performances would have warrented a lot more
Whether the problem is the players or in the dressing room is a worry. Our form does seem to dip markedly around this time every year and needs to be addressed
Players with big reps have not produced and seem to be getting weaker
Scannell, McDonald, Jarrett, Nelson, Sankofa,
Carew and Waldren to a lesser extent. Waldren works hard and Carews set pieces mean he has value although his work rate can be challenged
Up front weve had Erskine, Moss Penny and Willock with little success although personally i sit in the 'pro Moss' camp
Pinnock and Clunis have without doubt been our best players and they have both come through the 'Gavin' system
Brown when he is fit is decent, Drage looks comfortable at this level and Hibbert has been valuable as a squad player. Id love to see the team first game of the season next season but i think there will be many casualities
The play offs are now just a dream. massive disappointment. The comment from the terraces about players needing to look at themselves was warranted. We have a decent budget and are underperforming - fact
