Whilst a mistake in my opinion, it does show there is widespread support out there for the modern all-weather surfaces. It really is only a matter of time, if there were 34 votes favour for this first major vote.
Some may say it's not 'proper football', but they're accepted all over Europe, and the game evolves. Otherwise we'd still be stuck playing 2-3-5; there'd be a tape between the posts; no nets; you could still charge the goalie in the back of the net...and how would Phil's dodgy shoulder hold up to that...need I say more?

How could you "still charge the goalie into the back of the net" if there were "no nets"!

Still a lot of ignorance about these pitches to get over if the comments of Kevin Kilbane and Leroy Rosenior on last night's highlight were anything to go by, wondering if the pitch at Maidstone would be anything like the ones at QPR and Oldham in the 80's.

I'm fairly certain Rosenior made the point that the current generation of artifical pitches are NOT like the ones he played on for QPR (and Kilbane for Preston) back in the 80's & 90's.
