If not claimed, surely there is a better place to give the money to rather than just back to the Football Club...?

It's merely a 'turn of phrase' to say the money will revert back to the Football Club (You know the organisation that runs the thing) and no claims will be accepted after that.

Last season four lots of draws were not claimed. The Football Club kept the money...and are giving half of the winnings to the "12th Man" fund, with the other half bumping up yesterday's total, hence the big payout.

All money raised, whether from the 'Club' half, or the 'unclaimed' bit is to raise money for the Football Club. We are not any other organisation. As it is we do give several contributions to various charities, out of it, as well as spending money on Club matters, as well holding some in hand.

Indeed, on Saturday we handed over £30 to a fan, to cover her costs for buying bin bags to clear the terraces for this season and for the early part of next.

When the season is over I will happily produce a list of what was raised, what was spent...and how much is in hand, if you wish.

It's not as if it gets stuck is some bank account and never used, like other organisations might do with their fundraising.
