Enfield fined 3 points and £100, so Hendon will play Met Police. No word on re-scheduling of game yet.
Enfield also likely to appeal.

So that's why tomorrow's FA hearing for Enfield was called off. Doubt whether this has drawn a line under things yet, appeals to FA and others to follow methinks. Trying to recall how long the Thurrock affair went on for?

Will Enfield Town appeal to the FA?
Will the Met Police decide to be Corinthian and stand aside?
Will the playoffs clash with pre-season fixtures?
Will they be decided be rock, paper, scissors?
"These questions—and many others—will be answered in the next episode of...Enfield Town."

It's ironic that the whol shambles has arisen because one Enfield player appeared when he shouldn't have done, yet when these crucial matches finally take place the likelihood is that other teams will be missing several players they would otherwise have picked. Absolutely hopeless.
It's natural that clubs feel aggrieved when deducted points - we did when Steve May was deemed ineligible for our first match of the season inn 2008 after a faxed registration form went astray - but ultimately Enfield Town have shafted several other clubs by refusing to accept their punishment, just as Thurrock did in attempting to overturn their relegation two seasons ago. At least the Isthmian League is consisent in its stance that the buck stops with the club when an ineligible player appears, regardless of any mitigating circumstances.
What annoys me is that Enfield only just sneaked into the final spot at the end of the season after losing 40% of their matches. The way they've reacted you'd think they'd actually been denied promotion. It's a one in four (at best) shot; in reality probably less, as (a) any matches they play will be away from home and (b) they would be facing sides who have proved better than themselves over 46 matches. (Yes, I am aware than Hamlet finished only marginally ahead of them in the final table.)

Message for ETFCSSL Members
By Ken Brazier, Sunday May 3
Appeal for Funds; please donate now/ASAP if you wish, so the Board can gauge the appetite for proceeding down the appeal route beyond 8 May if need be
TO ALL ETFC SUPPORTERS SOCIETY LTD MEMBERS
APPEAL FOR FUNDS
The Board of Enfield Town FC has been considering its options for following up the verdicts of recent FA and Ryman League hearings on the alleged ineligibility of Aryan Tajbakhsh for two league matches played in January. The Club’s stance has been well documented, and there has been a good deal of positive reaction from other clubs and supporters.
The purpose of this note is to gauge your appetite for the Club pursuing the appeals route available to it by asking that you make a (potentially refundable) donation towards an appeals fund.
On Friday the Club announced it would be appealing the FA’s decision, and a hearing for that appeal has been set for 8th May. The costs of this hearing are covered by funds that have already been allocated for this purpose. It may well be, following the FA appeal hearing on 8th May, that no further action is required. But this note has been issued in order to help the Board anticipate what steps might best be taken following the outcome of the 8th May hearing.
In the event of a follow-up appeal (against the Ryman League’s 3 point deduction; only if the FA appeal on 8th May fails), the Club would need to pay legal fees beyond which it has budgeted for. The Club is satisfied that it has secured an excellent legal team. The method by which the Club would aim to raise sufficient funds to pursue an appeal route beyond 8th May, is via donations.
Should the FA appeal on 8th May not go in our favour, if you are of the view that the ETFC Board should follow that up with an appeal against the Ryman League’s decision of a 3 point deduction, please donate ASAP as detailed below. The Board is asking members to contribute whatever they can by electronic bank transfer only, and we are only approaching ETFCSSL members at this stage.
How to donate
The bank details are: ETFC Fund, sort code 08-92-99, a/c no. 65329315. When making the electronic transfer, please ensure you include the reference ETFCAPPEAL for efficient administration purposes. THERE IS NO COMMITMENT TO FUNDS BEING SPENT AT THIS STAGE AND YOUR DONATION WILL BE REFUNDED IF THE CLUB DO NOT PROCEED TO AN APPEAL BEYOND THE FA APPEAL ON 8th MAY.
Next steps
The Board will be able to gauge the appetite of members to follow the appeal route (as necessary, beyond 8th May), and will keep members in touch with progress on a regular basis before any funds are committed. The Board undertake to refund all monies banked should further appeals not proceed. In the event of the amount donated exceeding the total legal costs for an agreed further appeal, contributions from members will be reinvested into club funds to be spent on other projects. The Board will communicate regularly if this is the case.
Any queries on this statement should be addressed via e-mail to [email protected]

Frankly I think Enfield are being bloody selfish now and showing a complete lack of respect and consideration for fellow clubs. If you're a member of a league or association I feel that ultimately you have to abide by their decisions. Taking legal action once you've exhausted that league or association's internal procedures is just not really fair on everyone else.

.
they are really showing themselves up.
they have broken the rules and instead of accepting the punishment are now intent on stitching up four fellow ryman clubs, who may all now be depleted of players come the eventual play off matches. let alone dozens of fans who may well not be able to attend the new dates.
i'm finding so little sympathy for them now.

The verdict of today's FA Appeal panel hearing as been deferred until Monday, due to the complexity of the legal arguments associated with the case..
After a hearing lasting for 6 hours or so, the FA Appeal panel announced today that, due to the complexity of the legal and other arguments associated with the case, it needs time to reflect on its verdict. It will therefore reconvene on Monday and announce its decision then.

"After yesterday's hearing, a proposal was put to the Ryman League that Enfield Town FC would abide with the FA decision due on Monday and not take any further appeals forward. This could allow the play offs to be arranged
for next week thereby giving certainty to those other Clubs affected. Importantly the remaining promotion place could then be resolved where it should be - on the field of play and not the Courts. The Ryman League were appreciative of the offer and we will continue to work with them to resolve this situation."
[shakes head] that's good of them. [/shakes head]

It will be the biggest injustice out, if they end up being promoted at the expense of one of the other clubs they have pee-ed about.
