Sorry yes. Slough 18th, Hamlet 25th.

And don't say "we went there last year" - you've got another 1,500 new supporters since then, so it's a new ground for them...

Happy to visit Whyteleafe every pre-season while they remain in a different division. This is the sort of local match we ought to be playing.

Even more reason to look forward to it now:

The Radius is fantastic and I'm sure you'll like it. It's still a little austere inside but Vince has said he's going to start putting things on the walls soon.

Vince has also been kind enough to advertise our beer festival which takes place on Friday 29 and Saturday 30 May in our Clubhouse and Boardroom. We will have 32 real ales available (it was going to be 30 but we thought we'd round it up to 32) + a couple of dodgy ciders.

Advance tickets are only £2 and are available from the club office and from behind the bar. However, if it's a fag getting over here just to pick up a ticket, it's only £4 on the day. Both these prices include a glass, so it's the best value beer festival around - £15 for the Crystal Palace one on the same Saturday!

We're showing the FA Cup final live should you be interested in such matters but there are plenty of places to hide if not. My two main criticisms of beer festivals I have attended in the past (of which I have been to many) are: a shortage of seating and entry cost. We have tried our best to address these issues but, given that this is our first ever festival we don't really know how things are going to pan out and apologise in advance in the event of it turning into a complete disaster which of course we will do our utmost to avoid.

Sorry to advertise on your forum.

Please drink sensibly...

Thanks. Noticed the beer festival thread on the Leafe forum and had it earmarked for a visit, possibly Friday afternoon, maybe Saturday. Direct train service for me from Sydenham to Whyteleafe.

We had the local SE London branch CAMRA festival at Champion Hill a couple of years ago, which seemed popular with the punters and IMO worked very well as a suitable venue, but unfortunately the then clubhouse (mis)management regime wasn't as helpful as it might have been with no hot food made available on the first day as agreed, then quoted a significantly higher price to have it back the next year, so we lost it to Charlton Park rugby club instead.

Might be worth the club organising their own. If it works well, then the club or supporters club or whatever could make a little profit. Just needs a little organisation but probably up your street!

Here's a small selection of what we're putting on:

High Weald - Charcoal Burner Stout 4.3%
Ripple Steam - Black IPA 5.8%
Tonbridge Brewery - Union Pale 4.7%
Redemption - Rock the Kazbek 4.0 %
By the Horns - Mayor of Garratt 4.3%
Adur - Hop Token Citra 4.0%
Dark Star - Summer Meltdown 4.8%
Hopyard - Golden Ale 5.0%
Isfield - Straw Blond 4.1%
Westerham - Hop Rocket IPA - 4.8%

The 1st two are ok because it's Erhun & Altona, the rest of no interest to me.

Never really liked pre season unless it's somewhere new.

Shame no Palace, especially with Pardew back there?

Nice to have a good few months away from watching football!

Would be nice to have a Palace game again with Pardew now in charge there, but it's rare to get the definitive list at this stage. Possibly another fixture or two can be scheduled on Sat 1 August and the following midweek, as the first league match won't be until Sat 8 August.

Not much point going far afield on midweek dates, and we've got a couple of Saturday home games that hopefully may pull a decent crowd depending how strong a team Charlton send , or whether they're also playing Welling or someone the same day.

To be honest I am quite pleased we are not playing Palace this pre season bit bored with all that. Be really nice to see Charlton coming to Champion Hill as its been a while. It will also be a special day to see Erhun back and playing at Hamlet albeit for the wrong team. There will be many new supporters that will have never seen him play on the pitch ours. He will get an amazing welcome back.

I'd rather keep playing Palace personally, as their fans have consistently supported the fixture whereas I doubt we'll get anywhere near as many for Charlton unless it's billed as a something close to their first team.
