Totton Preview and Predictions

By harrowred (RedHarrow)4/8/2023 20:11Fri Aug 4 20:11:46 2023

Totton come into the first game off of a pre season in which they had the following results;

4-0 win v Baffins Milton Rovers (Step 5)
6-1 win v Volta Sports (Unknown)
6-0 win v Totton and Eling (Step 6)
3-0 loss v Aldershot Town (Step 1)
2-0 win v Bognor Regis Town (Step 3)
2-1 loss v Yeovil Town (Step 2)
4-1 win v Hamworthy United (Step 4)

Lots of goals for them. No surprise really as they have a good winger in Matt Burrows as well as Scott Rendell and Jake Scrimshaw in attack. They’ll be a very dangerous side going forwards this season.

They romped to the Div 1 South League last year, losing only 4 all season and conceding just 28 in 38 games. Promoted teams have a mixture of success in this league it seems but I’m backing them to be in the top 10. They seem like a well run club and made some good signings including former qpr, Portsmouth and palace defender Sam Magri.

My prediction for tomorrows game is that with Jordan Berry starting from scratch, and our team resembling something similar to step 5 Egham Town last season, we will go down losing 3-1. I think our team will improve and become good to watch and well balanced under JB, but I think we will start with a home defeat sadly.
