Although l couldnt make the game tonight l had the consolation of Listening to the commentary on The Poole Fc Website and punching the air when Dylans Last gasp equaliser went in.Thats a great comeback and showing a never say die attitude.Thats more Like it after Saturday.Just a few observations Anthony O'Connor must start on Saturday against Basingstoke instead of Micheal Bryan. When he came on dangerous crosses were going in.In my view Dylan unless hes injured must always start he has that rare gift of knowing where the back of the net is.But work is still needed on getting crosses and corners in better but lm sure Steve knows that.So Lets be positive a great fight back and well done to the players and heres to 3 points at Lowly Basingstoke on Saturday! Come On You Reds!

First thing, credit to the Poole commentator as your assessment is spot on.

To say the starting line up surprised the travelling supporters would be an understatement.
Moss up front on his own ( i know the game plan was Holland & Bryan to support, but we all know how much Bryan effects a game when we go behind!)
How Odetola was started in midfield, after his debut contribution at Staines is staggering.

The first half was pretty terrible. If Moss is the lone striker you would expect crosses into the box, but not one. Corners, not one got beyond the near post in the whole game.

Credit where its due, three positive substitutions.
At 2-1 we were in the game. Then conceded another cheap goal. But the never say die attitude continued, Kearney was getting the better of the home defence, O'Conner & Holland we having joy in the wide areas .

Two late late goals rescued a very unlikely point.

Hopefully we will start on Saturday with our strongest
X1, & everyone is switched on from the start.

I too listened on the live commentary for Poole and for the first half it sounded like Poole were pretty much in control with little threat from ourselves. The two goals conceded in two mins was not good but the commentator kept saying how poor Poole have been at home so had some hope. Half time changes seemed to help and there was hope when Kearney pulled one back with 25 to go. All looked lost at 3-1 and even at 3-2 it didn't seem like we were pushing for a goal but then one came out of nowhere with almost the last kick of the game. In the end a good point and one to hopefully boost morale after a couple of defeats. May now be able to take that momentum into the upcoming games and get another run going.

It's clear we've lost touch with the top 4 now having played many games more and I think we will be fighting for that 5th spot. The league is very odd, it's all quite congested in the middle and 3rd bottom are only 6 points from 11th so lots of swings and turns to come.

First of all we had 2 defenders out and then Jordan Ireland is hurt in warm up and Mcleod comes in. I would suggest that was plan A out of the window. not surprisingly the defence again was all over the place and when the forwards got the ball they wasted it. We were getting more of the ball in the second half and used that soggy patch on the right well as over hit passes were holding up and Bryan was able to get crosses in. Sadly most of them went over the cross bar. To be honest I thought we got a point by dragging their defence down to our level, but you have to say the fighting spirit of this team is second to none. Hope this is a turning point.

Have no problem with the defensive selections , as without Gough & Fenton we were always going to be limited.
But offensively, which is clearly our strength (as we concede plenty with our first choice defenders). That formation needs to filed under plan Z & never seen again. Unless Odetola has a lot more in his locker he can be filed there too.
We have 4 seriously good goal scorers. Having 3 sat on the bench, will take a long time to convince me that is a plan A, B or C.

& as for our corner taking. Dont go there. How many times after a short corner routine goes wrong do our bench scream expletives in amongst calls for a delivery , but in the next match we do the same nonsense!
